Stewardship Bulletin Bit“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to

a deserted place, where he prayed… He told them, ‘Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach

there also. For this purpose have I come.’” —Mark 1:35, 38

In today’s Gospel reading we see a perfect example of stewardship. Jesus gives His time to do all that God wishes—healing the sick and preaching. But before He begins, Jesus makes time to be alone with God in prayer. It is through prayer, spending time with God, that we find the strength to do what He wishes us to do. Be sure to find time every day to be with God.

TAX RECEIPTS & DONATION ENVELOPESDue to Covid & SHA restrictions, we ask parishioners to please pick up their 2020 income tax receipts in person from the office—from 9-noon or 1-5pm weekdays. This also helps the parish save on postage! If you have not already done so, please pick up your 2021 donation envelopes. NOTE: You have been assigned a new number, so please do not use any envelopes from previous years. Also, if you inadvertently picked up Box #319, it does not belong to you. Please contact the office at 306-773-9524 to arrange for an exchange. As an alternative, please consider signing up for automatic debit. It is easy to set up, and helps ensure the parish has a steady source of income. It also saves on the cost of the envelopes themselves.

Readings for Next Sunday 1st Reading: Leviticus 13:1-2, 45-46 2nd Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:31 - 11:1 Gospel Reading: Mark 1:40-45

WHAT’S APP FOR OUR PARISHThe parish “WhatsApp” group is a safe & easy way to communicate official announcements to all parishioners. If you use a cell phone, please down-load this free application and provide your cell phone # to Jackie in the office, or to one of the following temporary administrators:Fr Thomas, Fr Anthony, Stan, Claire, Bert, Emilio or Martin. Once set up, Fr Thomas will be the sole administrator. FYI, Facebook & WhatsApp are affiliated, and may share info with each other while maintaining safety & security.

AN ACTIVITY FORThe Year of St JosephThe Adult Faith Formation Committee has ordered several copies of the Consecration to St Joseph by Father Calloway. The book has 33 daily reflec-tions on the life and virtues of St Joseph, ending with a prayer of consecration where you entrust yourself to his spiritual care. There are also YouTube supplements for each day’s readings and prayers under “Consecration to St Joseph (Day #) Fr Donald Calloway, MIC.”The first cycle will start on Feb 15th and end with the consecration on Mar 19th, the Solemnity of St Joseph. The next cycle will start on Mar 30th and end on May 1st, the Feast of St Joseph the Worker. For the first session, the books can be signed out (or purchased for $20). Please contact Judy K at 306-741-7779 to reserve a copy. They will be at the church after Masses Feb11th - 14th.

EASTER FOOD HAMPERSThe Social Justice committee is seeking non-perishable food items for Easter hampers. Please bring to the church before March 14. If donating cash or gift cards, please leave at the office. We suggest rice, pasta, peanut butter, soup, canned fruit/veggies/tuna/salmon, cookies or dessert items, frozen ham or turkey, etc. Thank you for thinking of others.

REMINDER OF OUR PARISH LIBRARYOur church library, situated just behind the double doors in the north foyer, has been updated with current Catholic material, which can be taken out for a two-week loan period. Please sign in the book

provided. If you have any questions, please contact Judy Knelsen at 306-773-2615.

Parishioners are asked to bring in their old palms in time for burning on Shrove Tuesday, February 16th. The palms

from last year have been blessed, so need to be disposed of by traditional and respectful methods—either by burning or burying.

Fr Thomas is offering 2 Masses for Ash Wednesday, February 17th: at 9am (with blessing of the ashes) and at 7:15pm. He will also offer 4 special Ash Wednesday services (without Mass) at these times:

10:15 am • 11:15 am • 12:15 pm • 6:15 pmWith numbers restricted to 30, as well as school break next week, this will allow as many parishioners as possible to attend. Please register with Jackie ahead of time.

LENT IS UPON US: BRING IN YOUR PALMS

GET YOUR 2021 CATHOLIC CALENDARSIt’s not too late to pick up your Catholic calendar for 2021—just in time for Lent. Each month features a beautiful image, along with the source of the daily Gospel and a quotation from Scripture. But best of all,

the calendar shows all our Feast Days. Calendars are just $5, and your donation is a great way to support Catholic Missions in Canada!

PARISH AGM March 7thMark your calendars for our AGM at 1 pm on Sunday, March 7th. PPC members will be at the church in person, and parishion- ers will be able to join in online via Zoom.

NOTE: All reports should be in to Jackie by February 7th, so they are available for pick-up by February 21st.

Invite them to attend one of the upcoming “Do Something Amazing” virtual retreats where they will learn what it means to become a NET missionary.

Three Saturday retreats are offered—on Feb 6, Feb 27 and Mar 20. All are from 11am to 5pm EST.To attend, they simply need to fill out a NET application. Once they send it in, they will be registered and receive further details. The link to apply is netcanada.ca/apply. It is open to all Catholic young adults in Grade 12 up to age 30 who you think would benefit from discerning if God is calling them to serve. Let’s pray for the next generation of missionaries!

Who comes to mind when you think of a young adult ready to grow in their faith & share it with others?

ADDITIONAL SATURDAY MASSBeginning next Saturday, February 13th, we will have a 2nd Mass—at 7:00 pm. This will allow more people to attend on the weekend. This is a temporary measure, until SHA guidelines allow more people to gather in church.
