Reflection
I started my college career after high school by attending Amarillo College. I was pursuing my associates in Mass Communication with an emphasis in radio/TV. I never did finish my degree because I was quickly hired at Cumulus Broadcasting for an on-air position. Over the years I worked my way up the ranks and I finally made my way to co-hosting the morn-ing show on KGNC-FM with Tim Butler. This would have to be some of my favorite times in radio. I had the chance to attend St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s annual radio seminar where I met with well-known radio personalities from around the country. I also emceed numerous events and concerts. With time came many changes in corporate ra-dio, this lead to my decision to change careers. I knew that I wanted to stay in the media area, but wanted something more stable. This led me back to AC and to public relations. While at AC I became involved with The Ranger, where I was a reporter, photographer and page editor, soon I was promoted to editor and head editor of the AC Current. The advisors helped me find my passion for layout design and encouraged me to pursue de-sign as a career possibility. After three semesters at AC I graduated. I started West Texas A&M in the Spring of 2012; here I furthered my event planning and design skills. This was accomplished with guidance from my professors who were always willing to help me find my way. Now with graduation I see how all of my hard work is paying off. Last December I took an internship with the panhandle branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Founda-tion where I worked designing and helping with promotions. I have now been offered a part-time position with JDRF. I am grateful of my time at WT and will always look back on my time there with fondness.
About Me

To Whom It May Concern:
Currently I am a senior at West Texas A&M University pursuing my B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising. My expected graduation date is May 2013. I am seeking a position in Marketing/Public Relations in the Texas Panhandle area. Enclosed is my resume and I will send references upon your request.I have 8 years of experience in broadcasting, during this time I not only interacted with other local media professionals, but with the public as well. From participating in live air shifts, live on-location remotes and emceeing concerts and events, I feel comfortable in the public eye. My time in radio also allowed me to build my event/promotion planning skills. I worked with other professionals from concept to implementation on many events such as Cumulus’ Head to Toe Women’s Expo and 93.1 the Beat’s Kidd’s Kids Day. Recently, as head editor for Ama-rillo College’s AC Current, I planned events that corresponded with stories in the forth com-ing magazine which culminated with a launch party celebrating the revamped magazine. During this time I wrote and sent out news releases that resulted in our events being covered by a local news station. While a WT I have been apart of campaigns from concept to imple-mentation and have furthered my design skills. I have gained much experience in marketing and public relations as well as graphic design during my current internship at the panhandle branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you so we can further discuss my qualifications.
Sincerely,
Christa Glasgow
