Dear Parents and Students
I am very pleased to announce the new student leadership for the year 2020-2021. Imust begin by saying thank you for all the hard work of this years College Officers, particularly Jonty and Lucy, who have all provided superb leadership over the year.Next year's College Officers have an important role in supporting the whole college toreturn to school and look after each other in the future. We will be faced by manychallenges in the coming weeks and months over the changes which will be made tothe guidelines and practices over the lockdown. One aspect of being a Salesian
community is that we aim to work and treat others with loving kindness. As governments are trying tofigure out how to ease back into a new normal, please remember:
Some people don’t agree with the suggested reopening.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some people are still planning to stay at home... that's okay. Be kind. Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may possibly save their business or theirhomes.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind. The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind.We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind.If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind!Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story.
We all are in different financial - and - mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind.Being kind and understanding of each other is the most important thing we can and must do as we moveforward. Have a good week.
God Bless and stay safe.

Lord, Jesus Christ, who reached across the ethnic boundaries
between Samaritan, Roman and Jew,who offered fresh sight to the blind and freedom to captives,
help us to break down the barriers in our community.Enable us to see the reality of racism and bigotry
and free us to challenge and uproot itfrom ourselves, our society and our world.
Amen.

“As Catholics we recognise that racism is an evilwhich must be opposed; we all have aresponsibility for actively promoting racialjustice. Whenever we ignore racism or dismissBAME people’s experience of it, we are complicitin violations of human dignity. We pray for God’shelp to overcome racism in all its forms and thatwe might protect everyone who suffers itsconsequences. We are all made in God’s image.”Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales

During the coronavirus outbreak, all of us are spending more time on screens. We are using them to do ourwork, socialise and to find out information about the world. However, it is really important to have breaksfrom our screens and to find activities that we can take part in that don’t use our iPads, phones andtelevision screens.
