SAINT BARBARA

Celebrated on 4th

of December.

People sow wheat

and when it’s grown

put the tricolor

around it.

In Slavonia, one of

our regions, on the

people start preparing

for Christmas. It is

usual to have a lot of

guests coming to your

home.

The host usually

brings Slavonian

sausage, to treat his

St. NicholasCelebrated on 6th of

December.

It is believed that if we

put the clean boots in

the window and if we

have been good -

Saint Nicholas will

bring gifts to us.

But if we were

naughty Krampus will

pay us a visit.

In some areas, folks

hide under their

windows and rattle

with chains and

scare children who

belive that Krampus is

passing by.

That is the way to

motivate children to

be good next

year.
