CLASSES FOR 2019
We never assume that members will want to continue with whatever
courses they were doing last year – circumstances change etc, so if
you have not yet been invited back to classes and you do want to
continue in classes this year, please get in touch with Elizabeth (on
07939 189917) or Lynn (on 07947 480784) so that we can get you
booked on a course.
Obedience Classes resume week commencing Monday 7th January 2019.
Agility Classes 2019
We are hoping to start back with the agility classes on Friday 11th/Saturday 12th
January (as usual, they will be weather dependent!)
A taster session is being held on Saturday 12th January at midday. If you have
not already received an invitation to take part, and would like to give agility a try
(so long as your dog is at least one year old and has a good wait and recall),
please get in touch with Lynn to check if there are any spaces left
General Rules & Code of Practise
As the Club is sharing premises with the Staines & Laleham Sports Association
which includes the Hockey Club, the Cricket Club, Archery Club and the Football
Club please remember our Rules and Code of Practise.
To ensure we fit in with the existing sports on the site, and to ensure the safety
of members and their dogs, the following Code of Practise will apply: -
1: - Owners must keep dogs on lead on the field unless specifically instructed by
your trainer for either agility or for an off-lead exercise. Only one dog will be
off lead at any time in any class
2: - Extending leads are not to be used on dogs once on site. Leads must be
static and an appropriate length.
3: - All poo must be picked up in bags and disposed of appropriately
4: - Dogs must be under control at all times and not interfere with other Club
Members, their dogs or SALSAL members
Agility Rules
All members taking part in agility classes MUST be prepared to arrive 30
minutes early, or stay 30 minutes after class to either get equipment out of the
Stephens Pavilion before their class or to put it away after class. Classes will be
rotated so that people take turns to get equipment out and/or put it away.
For safety reasons, trainers can request that ID tags be removed from a collar
before a dog runs a course.
Ideally dogs should wear flat collars, no harnesses, check chains or half check
collars
