We would like to thanks parents for their continued support regarding their children’s attendance. I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a well-earned rest; returning to school in the New Year fighting fit and ready to learn on

Monday 7th January 2019!

Family HUBs

Our local Family HUB is ‘Pathways’ (Radford). A family hub is a place where children, young people and their families can go when in need of help or support for a whole range of issues. The staff there are very friendly and it was a very welcoming environment. Further information about the hub can be found on our parent notice board, online at www.coventry.gov.uk/

familyhubs and you can also find them on Facebook.

Safeguarding, Attendance & Welfare Officers

As part of our School Welfare support, myself and Ms Caswell are available each morning from 8.30am for parents and carers to have a quick chat about any concerns regarding attendance or any other issues that you may be facing. We can arrange meetings to discuss things further in a confidential and impartial setting and we are able to offer a variety of support as required; such as parenting courses (perhaps to help with behaviour issues), School Nursing Service referrals (poor behaviour, poor sleep patterns, toileting issues, weight/

dietary concerns and emotional wellbeing), counselling and lots more.

Please do not hesitate to contact us; we are here to help and support our families.

Parent Partnership Group

The Parent Partnership Group will meet each half term.

The next Parent Partnership meeting is on Wednesday 16th January 2019 at 5pm.

SCHOOL CAR PARKS

The school car parks are for staff, visitors to the school site and disabled badge holders only. These regulations have been put in place for Health and Safety reasons and also to safeguard our children. We would appreciate your co-operation in this matter. Thank you.

TELEPHONE NUMBERS

Can all parents/carers ensure that they keep the school office up to date with any changes of contact numbers or email addresses in case your child is unwell during the school day or in case of an emergency.

GOVERNORS

There will be a governor forum on the first Monday of each month. A governor will be in the school reception area at 3:15pm to speak to parents. The next

session will be on Monday 7th January 2019. All welcome.

Goodbye and Hello!

We would like to say goodbye to our part time Office Manager Mrs Smedmore who we thank for all her support over the past 2 years. We would like to welcome our new full time Office Manager Mrs Clarke who will join

us from January 2019.

Year 5 Trip to Coventry Cathedral and Transport Museum

As part of our Humanities topic and continuing the theme of Remembrance, Year 5 went on a trip to Coventry Cathedral and the Transport Museum. At the Transport Museum, we experienced what it would be like to be in Coventry during the Blitz, as well as seeing some vehicles involved with World War 2.

At the Cathedral, we had a tour of the ruins and a talk about reconciliation before viewing the new cathedral and coming together in the Chapel of Unity.

Food in School

We currently have a child in school with

severe allergies to NUTS and GINGER Please

could all parents and carers work with the

school and ensure that NO food items

containing or state that they ‘may contain’

these products are sent into school.
