Our Joyous Instructions! Begin Christmas season Friday!
o excuses, people! The Camas Chamber of Commerce and the City of
Fairfield command us to participate in their annual Christmas Tree
Lighting and Chili/Soup Contest Friday night between 6 p.m. and 8
p.m. on Main Street. Businesses, as well as the Library and
the
Community Church, will fling wide their frosty doors to welcome
kids, tree fanciers and chili tasters, and Santa Claus has agreed
to make a festive appearance! The main event will be the
ceremonious lighting, at 6:30 p.m., of the town Christmas tree in
the Pocket Park, festooned with ornaments made by Camas
fifth-graders! The winners of the 3rd grade coloring contest will
be announced! Everybody is invited! Coffee, hot cocoa, cookies! And
don’t forget the PTO’s Giving Tree at the Camas Creek Country
Store! Check the tags and drop off gifts by December 11! Ho,

Next Weekend: Söns of the Legion Christmas party! We’re all
invited! Saturday, December 12 at the Legion Hall! Social hour is
at 5:30, dinner at 6 p.m. and Santa will arrive at 7 p.m. to hand
out presents to kids. The Christmas party is for the entire
community! Dinner is furnished by the Sons of the American Legion.
Dinner will be ham and turkey -- free for everyone.
Reminder: Craft Bazaar Friday Evening! And let there be Cinnamon
Rolls! Yes, Friday brings us, once again, the Craft Bazaar at the
Community Church the night of the Tree Lighting December. The
Community Church will also be giving away the famous cinnamon rolls
and hot chocolate again this year.

PTO lends a paw to Santa with Giving Tree!
ehold, at the Camas Creek Country Store, the PTO giving Tree and
holiday food basket! There are Angel tags on the tree at the store
with ages and suggested gifts for the local kids. All unwrapped
gifts need to be dropped off by December 11. The PTO members also
are
providing a holiday food basket to these families – we’re looking
for donations of canned vegetables and fruit, as well as stuffing
mix, hot chocolate mix, dessert mix, gravy mix, and potatoes.

jolly reminder from Camas County Tax Collector Gayle Bachtell! The
first half of our property taxes for 2015 are due, according to the
ancient and glorious Camas tradition as well as Idaho code, on
December 20! Gayle explains that since the 20th is on Sunday, the
county
will accept payments on Monday the 21st!
