With a distinctively timeless, rich vocal style from simple tenderness to sultry pop, Nazia Chaudhry (Naz) is quickly gaining attention and acclaim as a contemporary jazz recording artist specializing in The Great American Songbook & Latin jazz traditions. Naz’s lyrical voice, inspired interpretations, and natural flair for engaging the audience instantly wins hearts when she hits the stage. While performing at large concert halls and the most intimate venues – filled with audiences from every day families to dignitaries – this rising star became a Sennheiser/ Neumann Authorized Partner just before the release of her debut jazz album, Time After. Naz toured internationally as a featured jazz soloist with Jubilate, one of South Florida’s highly acclaimed small vocal groups. While working with Jubilate, Naz also performed in concerts with 10-time Grammy Award-winning singer Bobby McFerrin, Latin Grammy Award-winning flautist Nestor Torres, legendary actor/ singers Clifton Davis and Harry Belafonte, and Metropolitan Opera Soprano Marvis Martin. Some of Naz’s other credits include: The Kennedy Center, London Symphony Orchestra, Bergonzi String Quartet, New World Symphony, Jazz Orchestra Atlanta, Georgia Symphony Orchestra Jazz, Rialto Center for the Arts, Woodruff Arts Center, Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, and Chesapeake Arts Center. Naz is a multifaceted performer, musical arranger, and educator who discovered a passion for music at an early age. Originally from New Albany, Indiana, Naz was an accomplished classically trained violinist and pianist before even beginning to sing in her teens. She performed both nationally and internationally with her local youth orchestra, and soon after, began studying classical voice while excelling in numerous voice and violin competitions. In 1996, Naz began her professional singing career as a soprano soloist and studied classical voice at the prestigious University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in Florida. Naz continued to succeed from stage to screen as an actress, beginning in 2001, appearing in musicals, opera, and theater as well as on television, film and voiceovers. In 2009, She began studies in jazz voice at the highly acclaimed University of North Texas College of Music and completed her Master’s degree in Jazz Studies at the Georgia State University School of Music. Naz’s additional music credits include: The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center, Earl Smith Strand Theater, Atlanta Women’s Foundation, VO Atlanta 2014, Florence Kopleff Recital Hall, Good Morning Houston (ABC), San Antonio Living (NBC), Café 290 Atlanta, Hard Rock Café DC, Churchill Grounds Jazz Café, The City Council of Dallas, Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, St. Joseph’s Concert Series, The Courtyard Series, The Sam Skelton Quintet, Joe Gransden Big Band, Drive By Big Band, GSU Big Band, The 5 Seasons Restaurant, George Romano & The Euphoria, D-Town Singers, UNT Jazz Singers, and The Wall of Jazz. From classic jazz to adult contemporary music, Naz’s ability to express and elicit emotions through her singing is as natural as breathing. This versatile crossover stylist, with passionate vocals and an unforgettably expressive stage presence, is fast becoming an industry “one to watch.” Sennheiser/Neumann is incredibly proud to partner with Naz. Our company is all about being a full audio solution provider and with the quality of Naz’s work, in both the vocal recording world and with her voiceover work, we could tell that she shares a similar philosophy. She is a rising star and we are so pleased to be a small part of it. Christopher Currier, Studio Systems Product Specialist, Sennheiser Naz is phenomenal … beyond talented.
