Having it all is not about striving for perfection, or about living our lives according to someone else’s standards

or expectations (we’ve done that for far too long).

It’s not about working ourselves to a state of exhaustion, spreading ourselves too thin, or trading inner peace and

contentment for outer trinkets of success.

Been there. Done that too.

Having it all simply means having access to all of yourself, in any moment you choose it, and in every

aspect of life that is important to you.

Go here to learn exactly how you too, can “Have it All”’

4 Questions with Christy whitman

C: I would like to ask you how do you define having your all in your life?

Jenna Gabellini: In this point in my life because I have children, I think it’s just about being able to feel at peace no matter what’s on the plate. Because

we keep getting these inspiring goals and you want to do better and to say oh I have a new idea like what you’re doing. It’s like okay I want to be able to take care of the kids and work because I love work, to me work is piecework it’s fun. Whenever I walk in the office on my creativity, here it comes all of this leads, let’s go. I want to be able to have my work and play with the kids and no matter what’s on my plate feel like I am up to this and I can do this and not a run for this line. I don’t need to Sprint all the time. I can have my moments of sprinting in times when I feel okay like this week I am in the middle of writing a book I have been spent on my arm, I had surgery unexpectedly, I couldn’t type. There is a deadline. And there is that four days this week with I’ve been out of the office whether it’s preschool registration or volunteering at school functions and I went to a funeral yesterday. It’s like wow that’s a freaking lot. To me, as long as I can maintain calmness, to me that’s having it all. It can be okay I can get it done I wasn’t expecting a couple of things this week, that all is well it will all get done. And that the time will open up for me because I am really really really practicing time abundance for five years. It’s getting better but I still react to things so it just feels good because I can trust this time that the time will open up to have it all, including going doing fun things with my friends I’m super social and having children and then all the sudden wait a minute I can do all the things I was doing to do, and I can hop on a plane to travel to everywhere I want to go into vacations, what I want to do. Somebody asked me yesterday what traveling are you doing and I said well it’s kind of being burned a little bit but I can still have that one trip a year while the rest of the trips are with kids. And right now that feels really good. So having it all means I still have the essence of what I want it’s just a little bit different now.

C: What’s the core belief that you hold to be true either about yourself or the universe for you to really experience your

life where you are really having it all?

Jeanna Gabellini: (it’s absolutely being unattached to the way that I think I can have it all. The first trip I took I thought I want to go to Hawaii and

go see the whales I want to take my five month old with me. After that trip I thought I think I want to do car trips for a little while. So I just need to change up what I think about for traveling to fit where I’m at right now versus the kids get older and I know I look to you for advice you travel with kids on plan how do you do it. And after talking with you it’s okay I need to just prepare and be organized have activities with them. And okay I can do this now and the next trip with kids on the plane was like oh I can do this. I got it. It just takes a little practice to get it dialed in and set up a way that feels good to me.) I truly believe I get to have what I want. I get to have what I want even if I don’t figure it out in my head I know sometimes I know clearly what I was wanted to look like you’re not going to get what you want. Especially in relationships in a partner I want something completely different than you do and they are firm and you are firm and you’re like I’m holding onto this. And okay after the initial reaction it’s like okay I’m not going to get what I want and it’s like the universe has my back and there will be a way where we both get what we want and we will not feel deprived. One of my favorite stories as we have a very small front yard we had a designer decide the landscape for our yard. All the sudden my husband said today is the day were going to tear up the front yard we are going to have contractors over here and I was like wait what is happening and he said what kind of tree do want out front and I said it really clear about the tree I want that I had been thinking about it for years. I told of the name of the trees and it’s got purple flowers and he said no I don’t want to see a purple flower tree when I drive to the house, that I want this other kind of tree and I said that’s boring. There is going to be no other tree that I like that no one that I want for these last few years it may sound stupid to other people but I was really hooked on that tree. He said let’s go drive around the neighborhood and find another tree and in the end it’s a long story but what I’m looking at right now outside of my front window is the tree that I wanted because at some point I let go of the tree. I thought something is going to happen I don’t care as much this is not a deal breaker. Although it seems like it in the moment. And when he actually ordered the tree it was the tree that I wanted I was a happy but it was truly about letting go in knowing that I don’t have to be attached everybody can have what they want because if I push you’re going to fight I’m going to fight resistance and you

don’t get what you want but that looks good you are frustrated they are frustrated and of the and if you hold to our look at what I want it doesn’t have to look like what I think it did but I was cool with getting another tree but I got my tree. It’s not the sassy pants of I always get what I want it’s of course I get what I want.

C: So when you’re in that state, in that present moment and you really feel like you do have it all, can you just describe

what it is of that essence of how you feel?

Jeanna Gabellini: I think there is peace openness and curiosity about well how will it look because if I let go of my attachment to how it’s going to

look at show but a multitude of ways. Most often delighted me upon expectation like I can’t type it now because of my arm without will I have put out an article every week and I tried dictating it did not work for me I get my creativity through writing and so I asked another colleague I said hey can I interview you will ask you questions through email then you write me back. I am thinking okay that will be easy for me a little creative the answer she sent me back, I sent her an email back immediately think oh my God it’s fine letting go of the expectations of how it’s supposed to look in the curiosity about how this is going to look I am putting out an article next week it may not be mine but I wanted to be good and valuable for my people.

C: What is one tip so others can feel that essence in their lives?

Jeanna Gabellini: it needs to be said over and over it’s just appreciation for where you are at and being okay even his life looks like you are not

getting anything right now and it sucks but it’s you’re okay, it’s okay, I’m going to be okay even though it feels like everything is yanky doodle right now in life. How can I breathe through this? Sometimes I feel like a lunatic I’m all about peace than I look at how I am reacting to something and it’s like girl you have lost your mind breathe you know it’s going to be okay why are you

having a meltdown about this. And it’s like it’s all right I’m okay I don’t need to be perfect in every moment having it all doesn’t mean I have to be at all right now. I am a mom who is very smart but I’m not acting smart right now but so what.
