Partners in the work
Mponda Malazo of Universe Awareness for Young Children - Tanzania (UNAWE-TZ) Sue and Chuck Ruehle of Telescopes to Tanzania (TtT), a project of Astronomers Without Borders (AWB)
We use portable gear, ie: Galeileo scopes, 5 inch OneSky reflectors, and English/Swahili print resources for astronomy events like a solar or Lunar eclipse; or a star party hosted by residential schools, churches, villages, etc.
The Centre will integrate astronomy in the teaching curriculum as outlined in the national syllabus.
The Centre will create a model science laboratory and observatory with telescopes
and computers, a portable planetarium, internet capacity for distance learning, and global connections to other observatories
around the world. Kevin in the USA at Yerkes Observatory Rosa From GTTP in Portugal
