St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle, be our protection against
the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we
humbly pray; and do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and
all the evil spirits who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

Please join us for our new Spring
parish-wide event,
“St. Zachary Virtual Gala”!
This event will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 and will support our necessary church and school ministries. As part of the event, our parish will conduct a raffle, similar to Augustfest, to help sustain our parish budget. Tickets are $10 each, 3 for $25, or 7 for $50. The raffle drawing will take place at the online event on Sat., April 24th. The Grand Prize is $5,000! There are 8 other chances you can win: $2,000, $1,000, $500 (2), $250 (4). If less than 2,000 tickets are sold, the parish reserves the right to reduce prizes proportionately. Ticket stubs and payment can be returned in the regular Sunday collection or by bringing in your stubs in an envelope to the Ministry Center. Extra tickets may be obtained either in the church vestibule or at the Ministry Center.
Thank you for your support and hard work to help make this parish raffle a
huge success!
Jesus explains the meaning of the scriptures. Like the disciples, when we offer and receive forgiveness, our hearts burn because we encounter the risen Christ within us.

Grandmother of Fr. Piotr Rapcia
The Lord Has Risen—Our world is turned upside down because of the pandemic. Community is lost and communion with others has been degraded or none at all. But so had the world of the Apostles and followers of Jesus been turned upside down on Good
Friday. All bewildered, feeling abandoned and disoriented, and fearful the Romans and their religious abettors would take their lives as they’d taken their Lord’s. Each looking for a path forward was a way to fill the void. It was like that also for the Israelites during the Exile. Still, in all these confusions, we won’t lose our sight, as we are reminded of the fact that the Lord has risen from the dead to be always with us. Joy Made Possible - In a letter Peter, first Vicar of the Risen Lord, praises the Father for his great mercy in giving us a cause of joy in the Son’s resurrection. With hauntingly prescient words, he assures joy is possible even in the midst of being plagued by trials (7 Peter 7:9-6). He is echoing his Master’s words. Death no longer reigns. We have been reconciled to the Father. The divine image which enlivens and defines us endures. This is indeed a great mercy. So let joy be with us despite the coronavirus. Jesus has bestowed interior peace on the Apostles as they were about to be scattered, “each man to his home” (John 16:32-33). Though he acknowledged: “In the world you will have tribulation”, yet he promised: “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (Id). In this overcome world, shelter-in-place is such a scattering. Why should we have cheer? Why believe these words? Thomas balked and likely asked himself the same thing when his brother Apostles recounted that Jesus had just appeared to them. Only when Jesus returned eight days later
to the same room to let him touch His wounds, did Thomas, with profound humility, believe and take heart. Speaking to those like us who would come after, Jesus declared in that moment: “Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe” (John 20:29). Peter, resolved by this experience, thus knew love and belief were possible even in the face of isolation and suffering. And he wrote in his letter: “You did not see him, yet you love him; and still without seeing him, you are already filled with a joy so glorious that it cannot be described.” Pray, brothers and sisters, for faith in the words of our Risen Lord and his first Vicar, and the uplifting joy that is a first fruit of this faith. Quote - “Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor, are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in his own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect.” - USCCB, Respect Life flyer quoting Pope Francis’ “Day for Life Greeting”, 2013 Libreria Editrice Vaticana. Our Prayer—For persons with disabilities: May their lives always be recognized as worth protecting and fighting for, especially during times of widespread illness; We pray to the Lord:
