To all Visitors, it is an honor to have you with us today. I trust that you will be able to experience the love and grace of our Lord and Savior. As you know, being part of the family of God goes even deeper than being part of our earthly families as we look forward to that eternal day in heaven where the faithful will one day gather around the throne with our Lord Christ Jesus. A Christian without a church is like a child without a family. In this cold world of doubt, problems, and hatred; we need a place of love, fellow- ship, prayer, and happiness. You need a church like this one to place your membership so that you can be part of this great gospel family. Again, thanks for taking the time to visit us, we look forward to seeing you again as various opportunities arise. If there is anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to contact Nicholas Mensah (Minister) at 240-294- 6567 (H) or 240-305-8826 (C). Welcome, Visitors! FOOD FOR

THOUGHT

RULERULERULERULE Do to others what you Do to others what you Do to others what you Do to others what you would have them do to would have them do to would have them do to would have them do to you …” Matt 7:12. you …” Matt 7:12. you …” Matt 7:12. you …” Matt 7:12. This quotation stands as “The Golden Rule”. A command given by Jesus when He gave His great Sermon on the Mount. Thought-fully, it is of great valve to humanity. At every moment of our lives, each person ex-pects a fair treatment from the other. When this happens joy and gratitude fill and flow out of one’s heart. Contrary, when one is treated unfairly (not as wanted) feelings are hurt and consequently a relationship suffers. Therefore, it behooves on each one of us to always apply “The Golden Rule” to our lives. An attitude full of love, compassion, respect and in addi-tion, honesty should come out of one‘s ac-tion. God created us not only to have relationships with Him but to develop and experience a loving relationships with oth-ers. However, our sinful-ness often gets in the way. An example is Adam's response when God called him in the garden. Somebody para-phrased the conversa-tion like this, “I heard you want to communi-cate with me, but know-ing I had disobeyed you, I was afraid you would not love me anymore. It seemed better to hide so you could not find the truth. Actually, it's not my fault! The woman you gave me caused the whole prob-lem.” Adam struggled to communicate properly with God because of his sin. We too can have the same attitude. Sin, pride; and so on can cause us to not communicate properly with God and others. The Bible gives many di-rectives for the words we use in communicat-ing with others. The fol-lowing are Ten Com-mandments that reflect fundamental principles

of godly communica-tion. 1. Your words are to be truthful. Proverbs 12:22. The LORD de-tests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful. 2. Your words are to be pleasing to God. Psalm 19:14). May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight. 3. Your words are to be life-giving. Prov-erbs 18:21. The tongue has the power of life and death. 4. Your words are to be encouraging. 1Thess 5:11. Encour-age one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 5. Your words are to be gracious. Ecclesi-astes 10:12. Words from a wise man's mouth are gracious, but a fool is consumed by his own lips. 6. Your words are to be wise. Proverbs 10:13. Wisdom is found on the lips of the dis-cerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment."

7. Your words are to be few. Proverbs 10:19. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. 8. Your words are to be timely. !" Proverbs 15:23. A man finds joy in giving an apt reply—and how good is a timely word. 9. Your words are to be an investment. . Proverbs 12:14. From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him. 10. Your words are to be loving. 1 Corin-thians 13:1. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a re-sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

I encourage you to develop closer and honest relationships with others by commu-nicating honestly and openly with them. You shall not give false testi-mony. Exodus 20:16.

God Bless you Nicholas Mensah 240-305-8826

BIBLE READING Gal 5:24-26

Communication is a skill that you can learn. It's like riding a bicycle or typing. If you're willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life.
