The feast of Holy Cross of Varak is celebrated only by Armenian Apostolic church and is dedicated to finding the relic of Holy Cross on the Mount Varak. The relic of the Holy Cross was brought to Armenia by Hripsime and was hidden in the Mount Varak. The relic was found in the 7th century by a miraculous vision and the Armenian Apostolic Church dedicated a feast to commemorate this extraordinary

Կաթողիկոսի հրահանգով։ Հայ Եկեղեցին հանրապետութեան առաջին տարեդարձը նշած է մեծ հանդիսաւորութեամբ։ «Հանրապետական մաղթանքեկեղեցական կարգի ընթացքին հնչող շարականի հեղինակը Եպիսկոպոս Գէորգ Չորեքչեանն էր, որ հետագային դարձաւ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գէորգ Զ Չորէքչեան։ Խորհրդային շրջանին Հայաստանի մէջ մոռացութեան տրուեցաւ Մայիս 28-ը եւ անոր հետ նաեւ «Հանրապետական մաղթանքկարգը։ 1989 թ. Մայիս 26-ին ՀԽՍՀ Գերագոյն Խորհուրդի նախագահութեան հրամանագրով 1918 թ. Մայիս 28ճանաչուեցաւ Հայաստանի պետականութեան վերականգնման օր։ Նոյն թուականի Յունիս 14-ին, Վազգէն Ա Կաթողիկոսը հայրապետական կոնդակով Հայաստանի եւ Սփիւռքի բոլոր եկեղեցիներուն կարգադրեց գոհաբանական մաղթանքներ կատարել Մայիս 28-ին՝ Սարդարապատի հերոսներու եւ Հայոց պետականութեան հաստատման համար իրենց կեանքը զոհաբերած հայորդիներու յիշատակին։ 1991 թ. վերանկախացած Հայաստանի մէջ «Հանրապետական մաղթանք»-ը վերստացաւ իր նախկին խորհուրդը, եւ այսօր կատարուի նաեւ Հայաստանի երկրորդ Հանրապետութեան անկախութեան տօնին` Սեպտեմբեր 21-ին։ Այդ օրերուն, հայկական բոլոր եկեղեցիներէն ներս յաւարտ Ս. Every year on May 28 and September 21, in Independence of first

Chorekchyan, who later became the Catholicos of All VI Chorekchyan. This service was forgotten during

n May 26, 1989, the government of Soviet Republic of Armenia passed a motion reestablishing May 28, 1918 as the Independence Day of the first Armenian Republic. On June 14 of that same year, by the
