Saturday’s 9:00AM at the Center Road Church. The
opportunity for “confession/reconciliation” should be a
primary objective of every follower of JESUS. All are
urged to celebrate this sacrament.

Email address when contacting the rectory and the Parish
Secretary, Mrs. Denise Herbert.
CALENDAR ACTIVITIES FOR 2018-2019
All Chair people, ministries, organization or sponsored activities
must submit their date of their events which will utilize the Parish
Center Church or the Gonzalo Docal Conference Room by August
21, 2018. This will avoid conflicts.
The Archdiocese of Hartford welcomes inquiries
from young men seeking to serve the Church as
priests. We also would like to help direct those men
and women in discerning a vocation in the
consecrated life as a religious sister, brother or
deacon. To talk about a priestly or religious vocation, Call
Vocations, Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary, Tel. 860
-761-7456, e-mail [email protected] or visit the web at
www.vocationshartford.org
Please be aware that there are now
stricter legal and ethical guidelines
regarding the dissemination of patient information from hospitals
to churches and clergy. In addition, today’s shorter hospital stays
make timely pastoral visit difficult at best. Therefore, if you have
occasion to be hospitalized and desire pastoral support, you or a
family member should do two things. Notify the rectory of the
hospitalization as soon as possible. Also, upon admission to the
hospital you will be asked if you desire to have your religious
affiliation noted as part of your medical record. Please state both
your denomination and parish. If you fail to do either of the
above, your parish priest may have no way of knowing your
needs.
TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

The expectant parents who wish to have their child baptized are
asked to call the rectory at 387-7119 to prepare properly for this
joyous celebration. Attendance at the pre-baptismal program
conducted by the parish staff is required. The Archdiocese of
Hartford mandates this program prior to baptism. Baptisms are
held on the first and third Sundays of each month. Please call
Denise at the rectory to register.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION SUMMER HOURS
The Religious Education Summer hours are:
Monday ~ Wednesday from 10:00 – 3:00pm.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
Registration for 2018-2019 are now being taken. The earlier
registrations are made the better to ensure we have sufficient
catechists to cover all classes.
Children entering Grade one in the fall need to be registered as
well as children who will be new to the program in Grades Two
through Ten. If children were not Baptized at Our Lady of the
Assumption their Baptismal Certificates must be presented at the
time of registration.
Have you ever wondered what it would take to
become a Catholic? Do you feel drawn toward
membership in the Catholic Church ? Have you secretly wished
that someone would invite you to look into becoming or to
become a Catholic?
That invitation is being extended to you now by Father Gene.
You are cordially invited for coffee and pastry, in the rectory
after 9:30AM Mass sometime in September to be announced. At
this time you will be able to ask questions about the R.C.I.A.
process about membership in the Roman Catholic Church, what
Catholics believe and do and why?
At this time you will have the opportunity to meet the R.C.I.A.
team. We also invite my Adult Catholics in need of receiving
the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. If you think
that God might be calling you to full membership in the Roman
Catholic Church, please do join us.
