ARE YOU REGISTERED?From time to time people come to the Rectory because they have the honor of being asked to be a Godparent for a Baptism or a Sponsor for a Confirmation and they need a document from us. This document states that they are members in good standing of this parish. The only way we can comply with this request is if the individual is indeed, a registered member of the parish who worships here on a regular basis. Please note that although you may be registered with the Reli-gious Education Office or may have made all your sacraments at St. Marys, this does not automatical-ly mean that you are registered at the Rectory! If you would like to become a fully registered mem-ber or check to see if you are registered, please stop by or call the Rectory. If you are new to the parish, Fr. Duff would like to greet you personally!

Religious Education

Welcome to our recently baptized members!

Elizabeth BeckettNoemi Fedele

Graham GoodhueAndrew Peterson

Families new to the Parish and new 1st grad-ers should contact the Religious Education of-fice at 232-4648 or [email protected] to register for classes. We are also seeking vol-unteers who can act as "substitute" catechists in the event a teacher cannot be present. Please contact the office if interested. Religious Education classes will begin the week of September 19th. Afternoon classes run from 4:30 to 5:45 Monday through Thurs-day. Evening classes run from 6:15 to 7:30 Tuesday and Wednesday.

Women of St. Mary’s are welcome to join us for our next scripture study: Walking with Purpose

www.walkingwithpurpose.com/

Discovering our Dignity

Two groups will be meeting, one in the mornings and one in the evenings, beginning September 28th & 29th, respectively. Please join the session that works best for your schedule.

Wednesday session at 10:00 amThursday session at 7:00 pm

Discovering our Dignity shows us women in the Bible struggled with many of the same things that we find hard today. Relationships characterized by comparison and competition, habits leading to places of frustration and discouragement, wonder-ing what is the point of it all... these challenges are nothing new. Through their stories recorded in Scripture, we learn where we go for true contentment and fulfill-ment. If you have any questions, please email Maura at [email protected], or call 914-232-1872.

THE 2017 MASS BOOK IS NOW OPEN

Masses may be requested by mail or in person

at the rectory. The requested donation is $20

per Mass. Forms are available at the rear of

the Church and on the parish website.

CARDINAL’S APPEAL 2016

Thank you for all you do, Fr. Duff

Blood Drive

Volunteer Drivers Needed

Can you spare a little time to make a difference in the life of an older adult?

Overseen by Family Services of Westchester, a non-profit organization, RideConnect is an infor-mation, referral, and volunteer transportation pro-gram for senior citizens, age 60+ serving southern Putnam and Westchester counties. RideConnect provides not only medical transportation but takes clients grocery shopping, to banks, hairdresser ap-pointments, restaurants and houses of worship. Volunteers are never locked into huge amounts of hours. They tell us when they want to drive and where. If interested, please call to find out how you can "give back" by helping seniors in your commu-nity. Please contact Marietta C. Manoni at (914) 242-7433 or [email protected].

The world was a playground for Mickey, a naive Irish American kid bored with his life. His father served in World War II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam; now it was his turn. His 365 days in Vietnam builds in torment until an attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia. Wounded, his friend captured, he becomes a tormented survivor knowing he is always just a heartbeat from death.

In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier embarks

on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.
