Lifelong Learning! The Next Generations of Faith Sessions

January 8th, at 4 pm and again at 6:30 pm. The theme for the year is Life in the Spirit: The Teachings of Jesus. January 8th explores Life in Christ and Community! Jesus reveals our Creator as a God of Love and Community. Not only is God a unity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit; we are called to live a similar fraternity with our brothers and sisters. Jesus is clear that love of neighbor is inseparable from love of God. Solidarity and harmony in society ensures social justice to all of us and allows us to be-come who God created us to be! Come and hear the Good News. Everyone, ages 5 to 105, is invited. Sign up in the narthex on clip boards. Please put other 2020 Generations of Faith Sessions on your cal-endar: February 12th & March 18th

HEAR YE, HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

Have you had trouble hearing at Mass? If so, we have several sound enhancing amplifiers that are available for you to use during Mass. To avail yourself of one of these amplifiers please either see an usher, who will gladly provide you with one for your use or take and return an amplifier from the basket located next to the usher’s bench. Enjoy the enhanced sound and clarity of the Mass and homily!

Kindly return your amplifier to the usher at the end of Mass.

Submit names for the bulletin of those who are serving our country, or have died while serving our country, by printing their name clearly and placing it in the collection

basket. Keep all men and women in our armed forces in your pray-ers, especially: Joshua Grout, Ryan, Sean and Kelly Fitzhenry,

Tony Meyers, J. Kyle Monssen, Brian Eichers, Norbert Kar-czewski, Jr. and Ryan Heath.

Prayer Chain Call your intentions in to the prayer chain so that your loved ones who may be sick, dying, facing surgery or living with a terminal illness, may be remembered in prayer by members of the parish whose ministry is praying for others. There is power in prayer. Please call Tom 612-866-9541.

From Fr. Jerry

I would like to thank the Cichy family for their memorial contribu-tion to St. Peter’s. Please remember all our benefactors and de-ceased in your prayers.

Pro-Life Speakers at the KC Hall We lead off 2020 with our Monday, January 6th program, and our speaker will be Jan Ochsner, Director of Development for Minne-sota Citizens Concerned for Life. Jan will bring us up to date on the pending legislation that will have the most impact on Pro-Life issues, how to prepare for these initial changes in policies and outline how we can become involved in MCCL's March for Life. The march will be held on the Minnesota State Capitol grounds on Tuesday, January 22nd, the 47th anniversary of the devastating Roe v. Wade decision. This Lecturer Program will be held in the Madonna Room starting with the Rosary at 7:00 pm.

Financial Update

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ: What a difference a bequest makes! While Sunday giving has remained steady and expenses have dropped, what made a huge difference in our bottom line from 2018 to 2019 was the gift someone made to St. Peter’s through their estate planning. We, at St. Peter’s, trust that God will provide what is needed to fulfill His mission. All things happen ac-cording to His timing. We, at St. Peter’s, are blessed and are able to be a community of prayer that serves our members and the broader com-munity in justice and charity. In Christ’s Peace, Business Administrator

‘Care Packages’ for 2019

High School Graduates of St. Peter’s Last weekend, we had parishioners sign cards to our youth who graduated from high school in 2019 and are in the work force or at college: to let them know we are praying for them; to give words of encourage-ment and wisdom for this stage in their lives. On Monday they were mailed to colleges and homes where they live.

Book Club Starting Saturday, January 11th, the book club will meet for four sessions of discussion in the social hall from 8:30-10:00 am after morning Mass. Women of all ages are welcome! Registration fee is $25 and includes book. We need to order the books, so please register at the parish office 612-866-5089 or fill in the forms that can be found at each en-trance of church. Please place all registration information in an envelope and drop it in the collection basket. Please pick up the book at the parish office before sessions begin in January.

Start the new year with a new book and

join our St. Peter’s Book Club

discussion!
