Clothing Donations
We appreciate your generosity at this time, but we cannot accept any clothing donations, since
our Bowery Mission has been suspended for the time being. There is a clothing receptacle next to Stop and Shop and at St. Francis of Assisi in Ridgefield Park, as well as at the Knights of
Columbus, 829 Windsor Road.
Please make every effort to arrive early to Mass. Our volunteers need enough time to take every-
one’s temperature before entering the church, and they should be able le attend Mass on time
As you know, we have been live-streaming Masses for the past few months so that our parishioners who prefer to remain at home can pray with us each week. Please subscribe to our YouTube channel by going to Saint Anastasia Teaneck and click on the subscribe button. We need 1000 subscribers to go live, so please support us in this way. Thanks!

Care For God’s Creation
The scriptures begin with God’s affirmation that all of cre-ation is “very good,” and as the stewards of God’s crea-tion, we are called to protect and nurture its goodness (Genesis 1:30, Genesis 1:28, Jeremiah 29:5-7). Every spe-cies, indeed all of creation, is precious because God made them. A suggestion that all of us could do as our action to sus-tain Our Common Home is plant a tree. Trees are simply amazing. They clean air and water, slow climate change, ease poverty and hunger, prevent species loss, and feed the human soul. All we need to do is plant and care for them. Let’s work together to make it happen. Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can generate $31,250 worth of air pollution control, recycle $37,500 worth of water, and control $31,500 worth of soil ero-sion. Where else could we get such a return on our invest-ment?

Our Youth Ministry is eager to grow as we move into this school year. Although we have not been able to meet in person for a long while, we still
strive to remain connected in some way. Youth Ministry has been filled with fun, faith and
community service, and we plan to continue in that tradition the best we can.

Dear Friends,
During this Labor Day weekend we thank God for the great
gift of labor and pray for those who are without jobs. This is
only more serious in light of the current pandemic.
You heard me announce at the masses last weekend that we
will be celebrated a “Gospel Mass” on Sunday morning
September 20th at the 10:00 am mass. This is how it came
about; A couple of weeks ago the Archdiocese called me and
asked if they could spotlight St. A’s as part of the next appeal
video. I was delighted to be asked knowing that Archdiocese
has an interest in our parish and wants to incorporate us in
their yearly video. The facilitator then asked me about some
upcoming events which I shared. But when I said I was
thinking of celebrating another Gospel Mass they were very
excited and wanted to come and join us to film that. Our
music director and choir and Black Catholic parish group and
other ministries are hard at work putting this together and I
just know it’s going to be awesome!!!! And I’m so excited to
have a culturally diverse and inclusive mass. Tickets can be
obtained at our parish office until the event Monday through
Wednesday 1:30-4:30. I suggest you call Yvette first on the
parish phone. Our maximum number of attendees at the
time of this writing is 100. We are now able to safely social
distance another 45-50 in the Redmond center at the same
time, so that mass will be live-streamed both into people’s
homes and in the Redmond centeras well as recorded by the
Archdiocese. Our wonderful Black Catholic group will host
some refreshments after the mass outside by the garages.
I also want to thank a few parishioners who have donated
the plastic outdoor patio chairs for the parish to use. Since
there is still no official word on when we can resume indoor
activities outside of mass I’m hoping to make the garage area
available for parish groups to use for their meetings. This can
of particular use to our Faith Formation, Youth Ministry and
other prayer groups. The plan is to unlock the electronic
opening and closing of the garage doors to manual use only
and have the groups meet either outside or inside the garage
with the two large doors open. We have 12 chairs
already. The more the better if you can spare them. I’ve
tried so hard to order them online with no luck. Likewise,
maintenance crews have had their radar on stores like Home
Depot and Lowes but again no luck.
Thanks for your help!!!
Peace, blessings and fraternal regards,
F. Joe
Paz, bendiciones y saludos fraternos, F. Joe
