A Prayer for our Veterans “God of peace, we pray for those who have served our nation and have laid down their lives to protect and defend our freedom. We pray for those who have fought, whose spirits and bodies are scarred by war, whose nights are haunted by memories too painful for the light of day. We pray for those who serve us now, especially for those in harm’s way. Shield them from danger and bring them home. Turn the hearts and minds of our leaders and our enemies to the work of justice and a harvest of peace. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer. Amen.

Easter Sunday April 21, 2019
Buona Pasqua! Blessed Easter!
Dear Friends in the Lord, finally, we have come to the culmination of our faith, the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! So, what is it about the empty tomb? The empty tomb is an essential sign of the resurrection and gives us hope that what Jesus taught came true. The empty tomb is a sign of that hope in Christ and it is the fulfillment of HIS love for us. Love is willing the good of others; so, if, love is willing the good of others, that means, Jesus loves me and everything HE said came true. By taking up the cross, HE bore our sins upon HIS shoulders by the shedding of HIS blood; thus, removing the darkness of sin and enabling us to have new life in HIS name.
St. Paul says ‘for to me life is Christ and death is gain and we should glory in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ’ because it is a sign of the redemption won for us over sin and death by Christ Jesus! So, faith in the Resurrection means that there is hope for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ because it is through death that death had been defeated so that you and I may have eternal life. It is to show us that God exists and brings life! That is the meaning of the Resurrection and belief in Jesus Christ.
Jesus tells us in John’s Gospel chapter 14, that, “He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.” Christ shows us the Father. He shows us in our human weakness how to live and how to still to have God carry us in difficult times.
“Faith in the resurrection of Jesus says that there is a future for every human being; the cry for unending life which is part of the person is indeed answered. Through Jesus we do know ‘the room where exiled love lays down its victory.’ He himself is this place, and he calls us to keep this place open within the world so that he, the exiled love, may reappear over and over in the world…. God exists: that is the real message of Easter. Anyone who even grasp what this means knows what it means to be redeemed.” (Benedict XVI)
Jesus is Life. He the Redeemer! I know that my Redeemer lives! I know that God exists.
Know that God exists!!!!! It is the message of hope, of life and of love!
To all who have contributed to this Holy week and Easter especially to our children and adult choirs under the direction of James:
Grazie Tanti! Thank You all so very much!
