A Family Perspective: Children learn by watching
us. Do they see you helping others like the Good Samari-
tan, or do they see you avoiding others like the Levite in
today’s gospel. Worry more about what your children see
in YOUR life than what they see on TV.

MISSION APPEAL: The communities of Central
New York are helping to support the Christian faithful of
Nigeria with cash and kind donations to improve their
living conditions. The goal for this year’s mission appeal
is to help them build a clinic in order to help reduce the
rate of mortality in Ahiara community,
Please help us to help the people of Ahiara. No gift is too
small for this project. Please - make your check to:
Catholic Diocese of Syracuse.
We always remember and pray for those who are dear to
us whether those with us or those who have departed and
are safely in their heavenly home.
POLISH DAY AT AURIESVILLE SHRINE:
For the past several decades, the Polish American Con-
gress, Central Division of New York State, planned and
sponsored this long-standing annual observance. When
the Congress learned of the departure schedule for the
close of the 2015 Shrine season of the Jesuit priests who
staffed the Shrine and the resultant uncertain future, a
great effort was exerted to make the 2015 Polish Day as a
“Vigil” celebration of this year 2016. The Jesuits have
departed but still own the Shrine. No priest staff is pre-
sent.
Unfortunately, due to the present state of the Shrine the
Polish/American Congress finds it impossible to sponsor
and conduct the service this year. If the situation changes,
hopefully the observance may be restored in the future.
Rev. Carl A. Urban, Chaplain—Polish American
Congress

Something to Think About: A little boy went to visit
his next door neighbor, an elderly gentleman, who had
recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man crying, the
little boy went over, climbed onto his lap and just sat
down.
Later, when he told his mother about it, she asked what
he said to his neighbor. The little boy said, “Nothing, I
