Main Colours

Primary Colour

CIBC Claret is the main colour of the CIBC logo.

In illustrations, both CIBC Accent Red and CIBC Claret can be used to accentuate active or key elements. Choose the red that is right for the layout.

If utilizing broad bands of colour from which copy will be knocked out, use CIBC Claret and not CIBC Accent Red. Please note, however, that Claret colour blocking is no longer a fundamental part of the branded template.

Secondary Palette

Use CIBC Accent Red to typeset headlines, as an alternative to CIBC Claret, and in illustrations.

For copy (i.e., hashtags, headlines, subheads), we always prefer CIBC Accent Red to CIBC Claret.

CIBC Flat Logo

There must be a white keyline around the CIBC Flat logo when it is placed on a CIBC Claret or dark background. Be sure to check the logo library for all approved logos.

Use the CIBC Flat logo when space or file size does not allow for the CIBC Cube logo. In these cases the CIBC Flat logo can be applied to any medium.

Shadow

This logo has no shadow.

Minimum Size*

To ensure that the logo reproduces properly, we have minimum print and digital specifications. For standard and mobile online banners we use the CIBC Flat logo.

The CIBC Cube logo is preferred; it’s an important totem for the brand. Use it when space or file size permits.

The CIBC Flat logo with or without tagline must be framed with a minimum area of clear space equal to the height of the “C.”

The logo should not be reproduced smaller than 0.375".

will find versions of all the colour formats in both English and French. Below are a few examples of logo don’ts:

All trademark lines and legal disclaimers must be printed as legal mice type in 100% black.

Trademark lines must be printed on the creative or communications piece on which the trademark appears.

First preference is to use the Proud Sponsor treatment instead of including text above the logo with a colon.

Always use CIBC Flat logo without tagline.

Aim for equal prominence in size and in colour.

Logos should be adequately spaced, with a minimum height of the “C” in the logo. If space exists, logos should exceed the minimum spacing as much as possible.

If appearing with other logos, it is always preferred to size down the logo to ensure we have appropriate white space around the logo.

When referring to the organization in text use “CIBC” rather than “Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce” or “C.I.B.C.” Do not use “the” in front of our name or logo.
