Sports Carnival
Congratulations to the mighty Sharks who were the overall winners of the house competition at last week’s sports carnival. Congratulations also to the following winners of the individual championships- Senior girl Lacey Hicks Senior boy Billy Hoppe 11years girl Grace Endycott 11years boy Zane Quay Junior girls Miranda Mitchell and Ella Williams Junior boy Jarrah Paris Sub-junior girl Holly Endycott Sub-junior boy Zayde Stannett All students are to be congratulated on their participation, encouragement of others and sportsmanship which is a credit to themselves, parents and the school culture. Well done. AFL Good luck to our AFL team as they compete against Pottsville, at Pottsville today n the next round of the PSSA knockout. Thanks to all parents for providing transport and support to get our team there and to Mr Marzinotto for organising the day.
Whole School Assembly Our first whole school assembly for the term will be held on Monday August 13 commencing at 2pm. Rachel Gerathy from North Coast health will be presenting our canteen with a special award. Everyone is welcome to attend. Coffs Cup Thank you to all parents who have returned their pink note regarding arrangements for the Coffs Cup this Thursday. If you haven’t already done so, please return the note by tomorrow. Director Visit This Friday our Director Mrs Meghanne Johnson will visit our school.

Stage 3 News... Spelling homework booklets were handed out yesterday and are due back each Friday as well as the maths booklets. Don’t forget students can also access Soundwaves and Prodigy at home. Our History unit is ’ A Diverse and Connected World’ where we will look at Australia and its Asian neighbours. Our PDH unity is ’Making Decisions about Drugs’. In this unit we will look at making personal health choices as well as ’What is a Drug’. If you have any questions please ring the school to make an appointment. Mrs LaCoste and Mr M
Year 3 /4 News... We will be holding the Stage 2 Spelling Bee tomorrow after recess. Term 3 homework contract sere sent home yesterday. Years 3 and 4 are also participating in an online literacy program where students race against the clock to build as many words as possible in 3 minutes. Canteen The canteen will only be open on Friday of this week Uniforms New jackets are now available in sizes 6, 8 and 10. Jackets are $35.
Year 2 News…
Spelling and 3 times tables homework was given out yesterday. Our new unit ‘People and Places’ studies Australia’s position in the world and it’s relationship to Asia. Recorders were given out yesterday. Lessons will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Our notes are B, A and G. Mr Taylor
STAGE 2 & 3 EXCURSIONS Even though these excursions are mid Term 4, the time is approaching quickly, so this is a reminder that if you have indicated that your child will be attending but have not paid a deposit this must be paid by next Wednesday 8th August so they can be counted in the numbers. If you need to request assistance you must do this by next week also and have the paperwork filled in. Payment for both of these excursions is due by Monday 15th October and due to the new department accounting system all deadlines must now be met. Remember that small amounts made regularly add up quickly.
