Updated Features

Localization of Peripheral Variables and ECC VariablesCall Context data (peripheral variables and ECC variables) is Unicode enabled on CVP-VRU PG interface.

A registry setting "UseUTF8Encoding" in the VRU Peripheral Gateway is used to control localization. Youcan use this registry setting to enable or disable Unicode encoding or decoding. If the registry value is set to1, the peripheral variables and ECC variables string is treated as an utf-8 encoded string. The VRU PeripheralGateway encodes the peripheral variables and ECC strings to utf-8 before sending to the Unified CVP client.Similarly, the VRU Peripheral Gateway decodes utf-8 encoded string to ANSI for all peripheral and ECCvariables that are received from the Unified CVP client before passing to upper stream components.

Default value of registry setting "UseUTF8Encoding" is 0, meaning the peripheral and ECC variables areencoded and decoded as ANSI characters by VRU PG.

The Unicode encoding is applied only on service control interface for all the messages carrying peripheraland ECC variables.

The following restrictions apply to Call Context data with localized characters.

LimitVariable

Limited to 40 bytes of UTF-8 data.

If Unified CVP sends a request that exceeds 40 bytes of data, therequest fails.
