Test Tank The test tank was built to test oil spill response equipment and provide training on the use of the equipment. CISPRI’s Test Tank is the only one of its kind in Alaska.
It is a covered 15,000 gallon tank that measures 25’ x 25’ x 4’. At CISPRI you can test equipment using oil or other products in a safe, controlled environment which has its own oil distribution and measurement system.
Testing of spill recovery equipment using the product of your choice makes it ideal for the evaluation of equipment performance, training and future acquisition options.
This test tank is available for rental and includes these other convenient features:
Observation Room - This room is a heated, well lit area that oversees the test tank itself. It can be used for technicians, researchers or observers while testing or training is being conducted.
Personnel Decontamination Area - This is a designated decontamination area for the personnel operating or training on the test tank.
Product Measurement System - Users can also analyze performance after collecting and measuring recovered oil. The facility has four holding tanks (2,500 to 1,000 gallons). These tanks are for fresh crude, used diesel, used crude and emulsified crude. We also have four high volume recovery tanks and four low volume recovery tanks.
Classroom Training – CISPRI has a training room with a capacity of up to 80 students that includes state-of-the-art- audio/visual equipment.
