The ultimate goal for this collaboration is to improve the quality of life for British Columbians. Cooperative and Collaborative: The sectors share a collaborative spirit and are open, trusting, and respectful to others’ perspectives and opinions. We strongly value the partnership while understanding and appreciating the unique roles and autonomy of each sector. Results-Oriented: The Government of BC and the Non-Profit Sector (NPS) share a commitment to achieving attainable results that support the priorities of the government, the NPS, and communities across BC. Inclusive and Diverse: We are inclusive of the diversity in the sectors while representing collective interests. We value and recognize all cultural, geographic, and demographic perspectives and processes and proactively work towards equitable representation in the partnership. Innovative, Sustainable, and Progressive Thinking: The sectors are committed to identifying innovative and sustainable solutions and will champion continuous improvements. We will work towards proactive solutions and will leverage best practices and existing working models to support shared goals. The Government of BC and the NPS commit to meaningful action to enhance the way the sectors collaborate. Together the sectors will:1. Implement formal and informal structures to preserve, nurture and

enhance the partnership.2. Build capacity by simplifying processes, increasing sustainability and

realizing efficiencies.3. Support broad social outcomes through integrated policy and

program development.4. Create policy and programs that are responsive to the unique regional,

cultural, and community needs across the province.

The Government of BC and the NPS are committed to the following goals to maximize the benefits derived from a strong relationship:1. Work proactively, purposefully and in partnership to identify and

act on mutual priorities.2. Invest strategically to promote and support stable, accountable and

effective organizational capacity.3. Work across silos to coordinate program efforts and to address the
