A U C T I O N R U L E S A N D G U I D E L I N E S
All of the items in the auction have been donated by companies,
organizations and individuals who are committed to supporting Citizen
Schools; they are very much deserving of our thanks and patronage!
� Each item up for bid in the Silent Auction has a bid sheet listing the
item, its value, minimum bid and bidding increments.
� The first bid on any item must be at least the minimum bid.
� Each subsequent bid must be higher than the previous by at least the
bid increment.
� To bid on an item, simply write your assigned bidder number on the
bid sheet, along with the amount of your bid (print clearly, please).
Your bidder number can be found on the back of your nametag.
� If you have any questions about the bidding process, volunteers will
be on hand to assist you.
Timing and Closeout of the Silent Auction
� The Silent Auction opens at 5:30 and closes at 7:15.
� A warning will be given before the Silent Auction closes.
� The Silent Auction cashier will open at the end of the program.
� Please check the winner board to see if you are a winning bidder
and if so, proceed to the cashier located in the back of the room.
� Please pay for your winnings tonight and take them home with you.
You may pay by cash, check (payable to Citizen Schools) or credit
card (MasterCard, Visa, Amex or Discover).
� For tax purposes, please note that only the purchase amount that
exceeds the fair market value of the item is tax deductible.

Item #100 — Private Cooking Lesson
Have you ever watched Top Chef with envy? Or wish that you
had a new worldly recipe to add to your family's repertoire? Learn
how to become a master chef with this hands-on cooking class
with Toro Chef Geoffrey Grove. Geoffrey has been cooking his
whole life starting as a young boy in his mom’s kitchen and, since
then, professionally in some of Boston’s best restaurants, currently
with Ken Oringer of Toro. He is offering a hands-on cooking class
for up to 8 people in his fabulous home kitchen.
The winner will work with Geoffrey to determine the appropriate
food and wine pairings that could include Italian, Latin American,
Japanese, Chinese or Thai cuisines (or a combination!). Following
the meal preparation, the winner and their guests will enjoy dining
on their creations. All food ingredients have been graciously
donated by Geoffrey. The winner, with guidance from Geoffrey,
will bring the wine pairings.
