Driver Attention Alert:
Linked to the Safety Plus Pack, to help you stay sharp and alert behind the wheel, Citroën C5 Aircross features a two stage driver alert system for added safety on the road, comprising:
Coffee break alert (DAA1): (standard on Feel models) it is important to take frequent breaks when travelling over long distances, to better guarantee your safety and the safety of those around you. All Citroën C5 Aircross feature a timed alert system that operates at speeds in excess of 40mph; after two hours of driving a message is displayed recommending that you take a break.
Driver Attention Alert 3 (DAA3): (standard from Flair Plus onwards) controlled by a camera at the top of the windscreen designed to analyse the vehicles trajectory, this active system evaluates the vigilance of the driver at speeds of over 40mph.
By identifying deviations relative to the road markings, Citroën C5 Aircross is able to determine whether the vehicle's behaviour reflects a certain degree of driver drowsiness or inattention. If it is felt that the driver needs to take better care on the road a visual and audible alert will occur. If more than three instances occur, the driver will be advised to take a break.
Active lane departure warning system:
Linked to the Safety Plus Pack, Citroën C5 Aircross is always one step ahead. Featuring two lane keeping technologies, the vehicle is able to identify lines on the road via a windscreen mounted camera. The technologies are as follows:
Lane Departure Warning: (standard on Feel models) a system that monitors continuous and discontinuous lines and warns the driver if a longitudinal lane marking on the ground is accidentally crossed. If steering deviation is detected, you are alerted by a flashing indicator on the digital instrument panel and an audible signal in the cabin.
Active Lane Keeping Assistance: (standard from Flair onwards) in addition to visually and audibly alerting the driver, Citroën C5 Aircross also features LKA. As soon as the system identifies a risk of accidentally crossing one of the marking lines detected on the ground, the steering is gradually corrected to keep the vehicle in lane, at speeds of over 40mph.
Advanced Active Safety Brake: (Standard on all versions)
An intelligent autonomous braking system designed to avoid a collision or limit its severity by reducing the vehicle's speed. The system is triggered if the driver does not react quickly enough, by activating the vehicle's brakes.A multifunction camera and 24GHz radar located at the top of the windscreen and behind the upper grille are able to detect obstructions on the road. The system is able to detect vehicles that are moving in the same direction or are at a stop, together with pedestrians in the road.
Forward Collision Warning: (Standard on all versions)
Working in conjunction with the Active safety Brake, the distance alert function warns the driver if the vehicle risks a collision with the vehicle in front or a pedestrian in the road. Two levels of warning are available, the first 'Amber' warning provides a visual alert to the potential risk. In a more severe instance a 'Red' visual and audible alert indicate a collision is imminent and driver action is required. Failure to act triggers the braking, a standard feature for every Citroën C5 Aircross, for added peace of mind.
Active Blind Spot Monitoring (ABSM): (Standard from Flair Plus onwards)
Linked to the Safety Plus Pack, now you can enjoy the feeling of having eyes in the back of your head. Using lateral ultrasound sensors to cover areas out of your field of vision along with the windscreen mounted camera, an LED illuminates in either side door mirror to alert to the presence of a car, lorry, motorbike or bicycle in your blind spot. The system works when overtaking a slower vehicle or when overtaken by a faster vehicle. This intelligent feature operates from speeds as low as 8mph right up to the National Speed Limit.
In addition ABSM also features a trajectory correction system in partnership with Active Lane Keeping Assistance. The trajectory correction is applied to the steering if a line is crossed even when the turn indicator is enabled, to try and avoid a collision with an obstacle not detected by the driver.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop (ACC Stop): (Standard on Flair Plus models)
Cruise control as you know it will never be the same again with Citroën C5 Aircross fitted with EAT8 automatic gearbox techno logy. Controlled via a radar mounted at the front of the vehicle with a range of up to 150 metres, the ACC Stop system provides two key functions:
• Automatic maintenance of the vehicles speed, at the value set by the driver.• Automatic maintenance of a set distance between Citroën C5 Aircross and the vehicle in front, slowing the vehicle to a stop if
required.
The system detects a vehicle driving in front in the same direction and can automatically adapt the vehicle's speed to that of the vehicle in front. This occurs using engine braking and the braking system (in which case the brake lights are lit) to maintain a constant distance.
If the vehicle in front has slowed to a stop, Citroën C5 Aircross will also be brought to a stop by the ACC Stop system. If a fter this no response is received from the driver, the electric parking brake is automatically applied.
Citroën Connect Box emergency & assistance system
Citroën Connect Box emergency & assistance system: (Standard on all versions)
A vehicle locating communication unit, this feature can be used manually (dedicated SOS button on the console) or automatically (if pyrotechnic devices are deployed). It locates the vehicle precisely and triggers the sending of the appropriate emergency services for a rapid response.
Citroën are the pioneers of this technology, since launching in 2003 Citroën Connect SOS & Assistance has assisted over 7,000 individuals. The system is subscription free with no additional charges and uses a GPS module and SIM card (built in to the system).
Intelligent Beam Headlights
Intelligent Beam Headlights: (Standard from Flair Plus onwards)
Intelligent Beam Headlights give you one less thing to think about when driving at night. Controlled via a windscreen mounted camera, the system continuously analyses driving conditions, for instance the proximity of other vehicles.
Intelligent Beam Headlights automatically switches headlamps to full beam when conditions allow, allowing you to tap into the full potential of the full headlights illumination that offer uniform lighting to reduce eye fatigue, increasing driver comfort.
Speed Limit Recognition
Speed Limit Recognition and Recommendation: (Standard on all versions)
Using the windscreen mounted camera, Citroën C5 Aircross features speed limit sign recognition, leaving you in no doubt over the speed limit. Upon detecting a speed limit sign this information is read by the camera and displayed in colour on the 12.3" head-up digital instrument panel.
In addition to been made aware of the speed the driver also has the option to adapt their speed to the speed limit on the particular road via the vehicles cruise control stalk. The vehicle will then adjust its speed accordingly.
This intelligent feature can be found as standard across the Citroën C5 Aircross range.
Highway Driver Assist
Highway Driver Assist: (Standard from Flair Plus onwards)
Highway driver assist is a step closer to autonomous driving, but still allows you to retake full control of the car at any point. The innovative system regulates the speed and distance in relation to the vehicle in front. It also positions C5 Aircross precisely in its lane by controlling the steering. Operable between 0 and 112mph*, it can come to a complete stop and set off again. It makes for driving that’s safer and less stressful in traffic jams or on motorways.
Lane Keeping Assist has been designed to work best on lanes of the road that are clearly marked on both sides (motorways and dual carriageways).* Depending on country and speed restrictions
Mirror Screen®: (Standard on all versions)
Allows the mirroring of a compatible smartphone screen to access the key functionality on the handset. Once paired functions are displayed on the 8.0" capacitive colour touchscreen. System features vary by provider/phone and can include navigation, text display, text reading, media functionality voice control. Mirror Screen® uses the following systems:

Offering increased visibility when reversing, with a selection of views to choose from, you'll never look back:• Rear Grid View: a clear view of obstructions to the rear of the vehicle coupled with grid lines
oriented to the positioning of the steering wheel, offering perspective for distances of one and two metres respectively from the rear bumper.
• 180° View: Divides the screen into three zones, offering a clear view of vehicles approaching from the side. Perfect for safely reversing out of parking spaces.

Progressive Hydraulic Cushions®: (Standard on all versions)Experts in the field of chassis and suspension, Citroën has developed a new suspension system, designed to improve damping while maintaining passenger comfort, which is a Brand characteristic our customers have come to value the most.
The operating principle is simple but the result is impressive. Whereas a conventional suspension system includes shock absorbers with springs and mechanical bump stops which can cause abruptchanges to the vehicle dynamics, Citroën's system adds hydraulic stops – one for rebound and one for compression to reduce rebound and compression forces applied to the chassis and improve the handling/comfort balance.
This has become described as a 'flying carpet' like ride as it improves the absorption of road

Foot operated 'Hands Free' tailgate/Keyless Entry and Start
Foot operated 'Hands Free' tailgate: (Standard on Flair Plus onwards)
Featuring a sensor located under the rear bumper, a simple foot movement underneath the bumper is all that is required (vehicle key must be within range) to open and close the tailgate.In addition the tailgate can be electrically operated using the exterior door handle, buttons on the dashboard, and keyless entry enabled key fob. With a large opening aperture the tailgate provides enhanced practicality and access.
Keyless Entry and Start: (Standard on Flair Plus versions)
In conjunction with foot operated 'Hands Free' tailgate feature is keyless entry and go. Using sensors mounted in the exterior door handles, Citroën C5 Aircross can be opened without removing the key from your pocket or bag - simply grab the handle and the vehicle will automatically unlock.
Grip Control®: (Optional according to version)
To allow you to take on a variety of weather and terrains, Citroën C5 Aircross can be specified with Grip Control®, a system designed to optimise traction in low-grip conditions. It adapts to the terrain by acting on the front wheels; in doing so this saves the weight normally assoc iated with a more conventional four wheel drive system. Grip Control® offers the driver a choice of five driving modes, accessed via a rotary dial on the d ashboard.
The hill descent assist function controls the speed of the vehicle when descending slopes reducing the risk of slipping as it descends.In either forward or reverse gears. when engaged, it assists the driver in moving the vehicle at constant speed, while gradually releasing the bra kes. It operates even at very low speed and in neutral position of gearbox.
Grip Control® with Hill Descent assist
ESP Off:
Enables the disconnecting of the dynamic stability control (ESP) andtraction aids (ASR/Grip Control), up to 31mph (50 km/h) to give thedriver complete autonomy. These systems are automatically reconnected
Normal Mode:
Calibrated system with a low, fixed level of wheel spin based on acompromise between the different types of grip generally encountered innormal day to day driving.
Snow Mode:
The system adapts to the grip conditions encountered by each wheel whenstarting. When advancing, the system optimises wheel spin to guaranteethe best acceleration based on the available traction. Recommended in
Mud Mode:
This mode authorises a lot of wheel spin at start-up for the wheel with theleast grip, this removes mud and re-establishes traction. Meanwhile, thewheel with the most grip is provided with the most torque possible. Thismode is also useful on wet grass.
Sand Mode:
This mode allows a small amount of simultaneous wheel spin on the twodrive wheels, enabling the vehicle to advance and reduce the risk ofsinking.
Opening panoramic glass roof : (Standard on Flair plus versions)
Enjoy the world outside with Citroën C5 Aircross . Spanning more than a meter in length the glass roof bathes the cabin in natural light, and enhances the interior ambiance onboard.
Further enhancing the feeling of being outside the panoramic roof can be opend at the press of a button, allowing driver and passangers to enjoy the fresh air of their surroundings.
If the summer sun proves to be too much the panoramic glass roof is fitted with an electric blind and to further enhance the mood onboard at night, ambient lighting flanks the inner sides of the glass panels to give a soft glow.
Euro NCAP Rating:
Citroën C5 Aircross offers optimum protection for you and your family. All models feature 6 airbags as standard. Airbag protection comprises:Driver & front passenger airbags: providing frontal protection for front seat occupants. Front side airbags: located in the seat frame on the outside edge of the front seats frames; they inflate between front seat occupants and the front doors, providing, chest, abdomen and pelvic protection in a side impact.Curtain airbags: located in the cant rail on either side of C5 Aircross, these deploy in a side impact and provide head protection for both front and rear occupants in a side impact.In addition, deployment of the airbags causes the fuel supply to be cut off, doors will automatically unlock, hazard warning lamps will activate and Citroën Connect Box (standard across the range) will automatically trigger and contact the emergency services if no response is received from occupants on -board.
In recognition of all of the above, Citroën C5 Aircross was awarded the maximum, 5 star rating from Euro NCAP, the largest independent vehicle safety assessor in Europe.

In row 2 Citroën C5 Aircross passengers can enjoy enhanced comfort. As standard on all versions the seats of row 2 are independent from each other so can be adjusted for individual comfort.
With 150mm of sliding travel, allowing the passengers to find the optimum position and balance between knee room and boot volume. combined with a 5 position back rest ranging from 19˚ to 26.5˚ of recline passangers in row 2 can relax in comfort unheard of in the SUV segment.
Boot Space and Modularity:
With C5 Aircross, modularity is a key feature that makes it stand out from the crowd, offering flexability unlike any other m id-sized SUV in the market. With three individual rear seats that can slide and fold independantly of each other and a two posit ion boot floor the boot capacity can be altered to meet the needs of the customer on each day, ranging from 580l to 720l with all five seats still up. Fold the row 2 seats down and it b ecomes 1630l.. These pratical touches include:
Two position boot floor: (as standard on all versions), In its high position provides the customer with a flat load surface between sill and boot floor for easier loading . In its low position the boot floor allows for the boot to be at maximum capacity with the rear seats up
Load securing rings: (as standard on all versions) fitted to the corners of the boot, these handy tie down points allow a boot net to be fitted or just secure a load ensuring less damage to the object

Citroën C5 Aircross has been carefully designed to offer useful storage solutions to accommodate all of the items needed for daily life, plus a bit more for good measure. With over 20 litres of storage on offer, areas include:
Central front armrest with butterfly-wing opening and illuminated storage compartment: Offering storage space for a 1.5L bottle under the opening lid, also includes illumination
Front Door Pockets: Offering 10 litres of storage in each, these can also accommodate 1.5 litre bottles.
In addition all versions feature opening glove boxes, open central storage compartments in front of the centre console for smart phones, two 75mm diameter cup holders in the front and rear door pockets at over 5 litres for each that can store two 0.5L bottles in each.

Advanced Comfort Seats: (Standard from Flair onwards)
Citroën C5 Aircross has been designed with the Citroën Advanced Comfort programme at its core, and like other models in the range introduces Advanced Comfort seats. These seats consist of a high density foam structure to provide support, reduced transmision of vibration and good aging, but are topped with a 15mm thick additional foam layer to provide that 'sinking into the sofa' appearance and feel.
