    II ~~ ~~BACKGROUND 11The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 (PSSDA) was enacted to assure the publicdisclosure of salary and benefits paid in respect to employment in the public sector. The PSSDArequires organizations in receipt of substantial Provincial funding to disclose the amount of salaryand benefits paid to employees to whom the employer paid at least $100,000 as salary.The report discloses amounts paid to employees as salary and as taxable benefitswhoearned morethan a $100,000 in 2009. An employees salary includes such amounts as; salary paid in thecalendar year and, if applicable, amounts paid for acting pay, overtime, retroactive payments,settlements or vacation. An employees taxable benefits includes amounts for items such as; lifeinsurance, parking, vehicle allowance.This report outlines only those employees rom City Departments,Tourism London and the LondonConvention Centre. Employees of other Boards and Commissions will be reported hrough publicmeetings held by the individual Boards and Commissions. Boards and Com missions salarydisclosure will be forwarded as part of the overall City of London submissionto the Ontario Ministryof Finance by the deadline to be published on March 31.There are employees from four o f the Corporations seven employee groups represented on thereport, including: 82 management employees, down 4 from 2008; one employee who is a member ofthe Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 107; and 116 emp loyeeswho are members of theLondon Professional Fire Fighters Association up 28 from 2008. Also included on the list is oneemployee each from Tourism London and the London Convention Centre
