• The Union won this battle.

• This battle was in Adams county, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

• Located in New Hanover County, Wilmington, North Carolina.

• The battle was on January 13-15, 1865. For 3 days.

• Total people killed, injured or MIA were 2,000 between The Union and The Confederacy

• The Union won this battle.

• Located in Appomattox County in Virginia.

• The battle was on April 9, 1865

• Total casualties: 700

• This was a Union victory

cannon.• Small arms such as muskets, carbines, short-

barrelled rifles, and handguns.• Minnie ball- lead bullet for guns• Edged Weapons- swords, sabers, bowie knifes

and cutlasses.

Affecting America’s Future

• Eventually slavery became illegal • The United States is a whole country with the north

and south included• There is no more states’ right to secede • It encouraged groups of people to speak out against

societal issues • A negative effect is that it divided the north and

south, even today. There is still a little bit of hostility. ie: yankee or rednecks
