Born on April 27, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio.

When he was 3 years old he rode a pony and later in the years showed an intense love for horses.

Was the oldest child and had 2 other brothers and 3 sisters.

His father Jesse insisted him to go to west point in New York State so he did.

Fell in love with a woman named Julia Dert. He proposed to her in a carriage ride and they later got married.

Was homeschooled in his early childhood then sent to Transylvania University in Kentucky until he was 16 years old.

Fell in love with Sallie Knox Taylor.

Was the U.S senator of Mississippi from 1835 till 1845.

The Civil War affected America in many ways some are :

Brought nations togetherAfrican Americans gained a voice in

government for the first time in history. Made us an industrial nation, so we got

more jobs and transport stuff

Where not caught when they had the examines because they were poor so they didn’t really know.

How did the Civil War

end? Robert E. Lee surrendered at

Appomattox. The war was not exactly over until the

confederate president was captured in Irwinville on May 10, 1865. Then that is when president Andrew Johnson

declared the war over.
