Looking at media production from these perspectives will give learners a more focused approach to their own production work

The unit covers planning and resourcing requirements for production and post-production, how to locate resources and how to organise their deployment. Working to a Brief in the Creative Media IndustriesThis unit aims to take the learner through the whole process of working to a brief from initial negotiations, through the process of developing and realising ideas in liaison with the client to final self-evaluation on completion of the work.

Unit 7 (Man) Understanding the Creative Media Sector This unit aims to give learners an understanding of the creative media sector. The unit covers the sector’s industries and their ownership, and legal and regulatory issues. Learners will also develop an understanding of employment opportunities, working conditions and how to apply for work in the media sector.

Course informationDiscover the sharp end of the Events Management industry by working on live projects arranging events for internal and external clients to the College. If you are a driven, focussed individual who is a good organiser, calm under pressure and has good negotiation skills and can deal with stressed, over direct and busy people this is the Study Programme for you. The Events Management students run our own events company, EVENTS@CRC.

This two-year course is equivalent to 3 A Levels and provides a broad foundation for a range of careers in the media industry.The comprises 18 units that must be completed in full to achieve the whole qualification. The units cover a range of creative management and media skills relevant to working in the events management industry. we endeavor to make the BTEC Events Management course as practical and hands on as possible.With a forward thinking approach referring to industry practice as standard.An Events Management student is pro-active, self-motivated, autonomous and with an entrepreneurial attitude.The emphasis will be on developing excellent communication skills, event planning, team building & management, and work to industry standards.

Research techniques - need to identify what information is required to solve a problem, where to look for the information (wider than the internet), use the information appropriately for the work produced.Screening – learners will develop

the skills in the analysis of an event within the planning and development stages eg identifying how an audience is likely to respond to an event

Developing a small business - learners will acquire the knowledge of how to produce a business plan, mission statement and business identity

The legalities and ethical practice within events planning. Learners will gain the understanding of how to liaise with organisations such as suppliers, governing bodies and counsels

Ergonomics – learners will develop a good understanding of how to improve human interaction with environments in relation to event layouts.
