WEL COME 2017 KI NDERGARTEN STUDE NTS AND PARENTS What an exci ti ng day it was f or our new 2017 Ki ndergarten students. All had a fabul ous day wi th our Ki nder ( nearl y Year One) students and the onl y tears seen wer e those because they had to l eave. S mil es were qui ckl y back when they di scovered they woul d be back on Monday f or the second sessi on. Our thanks to Mrs McKenzi e and Mrs Cooper f or thei r spl endi d preparati on, and to all our guest speakers from Li ve, Li ve Well, P & C and Bul zu mi Buses. STAGE 3 I NTERREL ATE NEXT THURSDAY Next week our Year 5 and Year 6 students will attend separate I nterrel ate progra ms at school wi th Cani aba PS students. Thi s personal devel op ment course covers the ‘ ‘All you need to know’ ’ about rel ati onshi ps and growi ng up. Year 5 have 2 sessi ons whi ch are an i ntroducti on to thi s topic whi l e Year 6 parti ci pate i n 4 sessi ons whi ch provi de greater det ail, prepari ng the m f or the changes i n thei r li ves to come.

The f ocus of the conf erence was ‘ ‘Saili ng thr ough the Seas of Change’ ’ and the many present ers and wor kshops wer e excell ent i n pr ovi di ng strategi es to work thr ough these successf ull y. We wer e pri vil eged to hear presentati ons from speakers such as Lt General Davi d Morrison ( OA), and Navy di ver and shark attack survi vor, Peter De Gester. Bot h spoke about taki ng on chall enges and achi evi ng what can someti mes be seen as the i mpossi bl e.

I was al so honour ed to meet wi t h Tho mas George and ot her l ocal Pri nci pal s at State Parli ament House to di scuss the chall enges we face l ocall y. I also attended State Parli ament Questi on Ti me, l ate i n the after noon, whi ch was a very educati onal and me mor abl e experi ence. I l ook f or war d to shari ng and i mpl e menti ng what I have l earned from t hese t wo days. At COOS H the afternoon acti viti es have been as vari ed as the weat her. The chil dren have been enj oyi ng cooki ng, ski ppi ng, and envi ron ment al art. Some of the chil dren have asked to hol d a Chri st mas stall and have been busil y creati ng gifts for the fa mil y and fri ends. Next Monday i s Hall oween and the

chil dren have been usi ng Pi nterest to fi nd brilli ant crafts that they have been creati ng throughout the week.
