It has been 52 years since we preparedfor Christmas with our classmates in ourSenior year at MHS … without i-pads ori-pods, cell phones or computers … andnever having heard “politically correct.”

Our grandchildren are all so techno-logically advanced, they have no ideawhat they’ve “missed”. Don’t besurprised to find none of them haveheard of Bing Crosby as we listen toChristmas music this season. As many ofus recall the windows at AM&A’s … andour seasonal favorites, our grandkids willhave their own very different Christmasmemories.

Thankfully we are seeing manyreminders … and we hope more of ouryouth see them too … clearly indicating“Jesus is the Reason for the Season”.

Future MHS Reunions orclassmate get-togethers

There will be MHS All Class ReunionPicnics annually on the fourth Saturdayof July … we will send info by e-mailregarding these events.

Our next Class of 1961 regular reunionwill be our 55th – likely the weekend ofthe All Class Picnic.

Other events are possible We offeredanother event like our 50th CaribbeanCruise, either a cruise or an all-exclusiveresort, before our 55th reunion; but therewas not sufficient interest.

Buffalo Bills GamePossible MHS Get together

In updating addresses I spoke withGary McElroy … who suggested apossible get together at a Bills game …tailgating and maybe more since his clubis the Bills Backers of Virginia and hehas some “connections” … Gary also haskept his season tickets to the Bills. Thiswould likely be at a game next fall …probably when the Bills play at home twoweeks in a row, as Gary is most likely tocome to Buffalo for those games.

IF there isenough interest that a game date isselected we’ll get the definiteannouncement out to more classmates …so everyone has a chance to attend. With the recent additionof Bob Zolczer we nowhave a total of twenty-one(21) classmates nowresiding or ‘snowbirding’in Florida. Alphabeticallythe first three are in myzip code … which led tothis map showing yellowflags for each location(some zip codes show 2or 3).

There is at least oneother classmate who toldme he “snowbirds” in

Florida … but I do not know where.If you are in Florida and would be

interested in a “reunion” gatheringsometime in February or March 2013,please send an e-mail to Jerry atMaryvale1961@aol.com .

This would tentatively be in a centralsite around the Orlando area – butsuggestions for a specific location tomeet for lunch or dinner would beappreciated. If there is sufficient interestwe will communicate a date and locationto all.

FYI – our last Florida reunion, justbefore the 50th Caribbean Cruise, wasattended primarily by those on the cruise,with only two classmates not cruisingwith the group.

We hope to hear from enoughclassmates to proceed with this is 2013.

Oracle – Classmate InputOur 50th Reunion Oracle issue

referenced the first few Oracles andsuggested classmates submit articles.This helped for the first few Oracleissues in 2001, and provided data formore frequent “publications”.

The final issue of 2011 included BillMcNamara’s summary of his retirementpresentation with many photos.

Avelino Zapanta kindly followed-upwith a summary of his 2011 life events,which I delayed getting out until June ofthis year but we have seen little recentinput from other classmates. Added2012 input from Lino is included below.
