RETAINING WALL NOTES:

1. ALL WORK SHALL BE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE TOWN OF HUNTIGTON

BUILDING CODE.

2. RETAINING WALL OF 3' OR MORE, MEASURED VERTICALLY FROM GRADE TO THE

HIGHEST COMPONENT, SHALL REQUIRE A BUILDING PERMIT.

3. A CONCRETE WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACI 318-89.

4. ALL CONCRETE 28 DAY STRENGTH SHALL BE 3,000 PSI.

5. FOOTING DESIGN IS BASED ON 3,000 PSI SOIL BEARING PRESSURE.

6. IF FOOTING ELEVATION OCCURS IN UNSUITABLE SOILS, THE ENGINEER SHALL BE

NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY.

7. A FINAL PROJECT SPECIFIC DESIGN SHOULD BE PREPARED BY A LICENSED

EROSION CONTROL:

1. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL HANDBOOK OF THE

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON.

2. THE DEVELOPER SHALL MINIMIZE TRANSIENT UNSTABLE SOIL CONDITIONS AND

CONTROL EROSION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, SHALL HE ALLOW TEMPORARY

SOIL INSTABILITY TO EXTEND BEYOND THE LIMITS OF OWNERSHIP OF THE SITE.

3. UNDER ARTICLE IV-H, A SCHEDULE OF OPERATIONS OUTLINES MAJOR EARTHWORK

SEGMENTS OF THE PROJECT, THEIR ORDER OF SUCCESSION AND THE CONTROL

AND STABILIZATION MEASURES PLANNED.

4. MAINTENANCE OF THE VARIOUS COMBINATIONS OF MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES

INSTALLED TO CONTROL EROSION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN AN

EFFECTIVE STABILIZATION PROGRAM.

5. ALL AREAS SHALL BE REGULARLY INSPECTED FOR EROSION RUTTING, PLANNING

(8.33%) MAXIMUM.

SCUPPER INSTALLATION NOTES:

1. THE CONDUCTOR HEAD IS ATTACHED TO THE EXTERIOR WALL USING MASONRY

FASTENERS. THE SCUPPER SPOUT IS LOCKED AND SOLDERED ONTO THE BACK EDGE OF THE

CONDUCTOR HEAD. IF CONDUCTOR HEADS WITHOUT OVERFLOW RIM IS USED, THE RIM OF

THE HEAD SHOULD BE 1" BELOW THE SCUPPER.

2. A CLOSURE FLANGE IS INSERTED AND SEALED INTO A MASONRY JOINT ABOVE THE

SCUPPER. THE SIDES ARE ALSO SEALED AGAINST THE MASONRY. THE SCUPPER IS LOCKED

AND SOLDERED ONTO THE FLANGE AT THE TOP AND TWO SIDES.

3. ON THE ROOF SIDE, THE FLANGE IS COVERED BY METAL FLASHING. THE FLANGE IS FORMED

AND SOLDERED TO THE ROOF SIDE OF THE SCUPPER, LEAVING AT LEAST 4" OF MATERIAL

AROUND THE OPENING. A CONTINUOUS SHEET OF COUNTERFLASHING IS INSERTED INTO A

MASONRY JOINT ABOVE THIS FLANGE. THIS FLASHING EXTENDS AT LEAST 2" BEYOND THE

ENDS OF THE FLANGE AND LAPS THE SOLDERED JOINT BETWEEN THE FLANGE AND THE

SCUPPER.

4. THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE SCUPPER ON THE ROOF SIDE IS LOCKED AND SOLDERED INTO A

CONTINUOUS CLEAT. A METAL GRAVEL STOP IS SOLDERED IN THE SCUPPER.
