LiteracyTo celebrate the holidays we will be
reading a variety of children’s stories. We will begin the month with a Gingerbread
Unit and continue to read old and new holiday stories throughout the rest of the month. The stories will be used to
discuss the characters and setting in a story and aid in retelling and comprehending what has been read. We will also focus on
the vowels /a/ and /o/.
WritingThe children have finished all their letters and we will continue practicing our letter
formation. We will also be working on having the children write their names with
capital letters at the beginning only. The holiday activities we have planned will
help to reinforce their fine motor skills.
MathThis month we will continue learning our
numbers and will be working on the numbers four and five. We will
also be revisiting shapes, patterns and graphing through
some fun holiday math activities.
Holiday FunOn Friday, December 18th we invite
the children to come dressed in their pajamas to enjoy the magical movie
The Polar Express! The children will enjoy cookies and hot chocolate and
participate in fun activities.
