Beginning next week, the classroom door will be locked when the bell rings.

DO NOT knock on the door once the door is locked.

Go get a tardy pass and return to class. Be quiet when you enter, as class will have already begun.

When the bell rings, you must go directly to your seat. The warm-up assignment will be written on the board.

The warm-up is a timed, graded assignment. For example, you may be given seven minutes to write a paragraph, or ten minutes to complete a test-practice. The warm-up will be collected after this time has passed. If you have not finished, you will not be given additional time to complete this assignment.

The Bell

The bell is used to get your attention.

Students MUST BE quiet and listening to the teacher after they hear the sound of the bell.

Participation cards are used to earn extra credit.

Write your name and period on the participation card.

When the teacher catches you doing something well, she will sign your participation card.

If you do not have your participation card, you may not earn extra credit.

If you lose your participation card, previous signatures cannot be replaced.

You may pick up a new participation card at lunch in room 130 if yours is lost.

You will receive four bathroom passes a semester. If you lose your bathroom passes, they may not be replaced until the following semester.

Present bathroom pass to the teacher (no need to cut it out!) and she will cross it off.

You will then receive a separate SHS hall pass.

Keep in mind that unused bathroom passes are worth five points each in extra credit- that’s a total of 20 points at the end of the semester!
