A procedure is the way that we do things.

So, to be successful in learning, you need to follow some simple procedures.

□ Record the daily objective in your Agenda. Remember you may have to add unfinished class work to the homework section of your planner.

□ Start the entry task that will be written on the board in your ISN (Interactive student notebook).

□ It is to be a zero noise level during entry task time.

When you finish, wait quietly for the next direction.

Other questions which are not related to the subject can be asked after instruction.

After instruction, make sure you understand the concept. If not, ask questions by mentioning which part you didn’t understand.

Make sure you read or listen to the directions about your work and understand them.

If you didn’t understand, ask help from other students sitting around you. If they also don’t understand, ask to the teacher to explain it.

If you are asked to help, be polite and kind and offer your best.

Talking to each other should be no louder than a three inch voice.

Respect each other and be friendly. Use your time wisely. Put forth your best

effort to finish your work on time.

KEEPING YOURKEEPING YOUR ISN ISN

You should have a Social Studies ISN which will be used for only your SS class. (A Spiral interactive notebook)

Use pen or pencil to write in your journal. (NO MARKERS except for foldables)

The first page should be the title page. Write your full name, class and period on it.

Number the pages in the right bottom corner. Always write the title with capital letters. Each day, put the date first. Keep your ISN clean and organized. YES IT IS A

GRADE Your ISN will be collected and checked from time

to time. Turn it in on time when you are asked. Take good care of your journal. Do not lose it.

You will be required to replace it if you loose the provided notebook. And you will have to replace the work in it

Stop whatever you are doing at that moment.

Face the teacher and wait silently.

Notify any classmates who haven’t noticed that the teacher has asked for your attention.

No talking or whispering. All of your attention should be given to the teacher.

If the assignment is to be turned in, do so in the TURN IN BASKET.

Read your book, magazine, etc. or finish up homework from another class.

Clean your work area and take all garbage to the trash can.

Put all of the supplies back into their designated areas.

Check around your seats and table for trash.

After you get permission to leave, push in your chair and leave quietly.

If it is the last period of the day, stack the chairs to one side of the table.

HOMEWORK HOMEWORK PROCEDUREPROCEDURE Homework that is assigned

is due the next day unless I give you an alternative due date.

Late homework is worth ½ credit.

You will not be excused from any work you missed. Get the assignment from a classmate and do it at home.

You will receive a tardy and it will count as a minor and corresponding step in the discipline process.

Get the assignments from the class assigned whiteboard. All handouts and worksheets are in the absent work bucket on the side wall. Do the work at home.

If you missed a test because of your excused absence, inform Mrs. Wibel and arrange a time to make up the test after school. After a week a ZERO will be entered.

Projects with more than 5 work days are DUE ON THEIR DUE DATES no exceptions. A reduction of 10% each day will be given for late projects.

You will not be able to make up any work if you have an unexcused absence. You will get a “0” for those assignments.
