•There were four groups of reptiles that evolved from this primitive condition, and they are grouped according to the number and location of extra holes (called apsids) in the back part of the skull.

People that have Herpetophobia react when they are:

Touching Looking at And or being in proximity of a reptiles

The most well known evolution adaptations on snakes•No appendages •No eyelids •Its method of eating •Unhingabal jaws •Certain types of snakes use venom to kill•certain types of snakes constrict to kill

Types of Snake venom and purpose of it.

Snake venom is produced by glands below the eye (the mandibular glands)and delivered to the victim through tubular or channeled fangs.

Proteolytic-venom that dismantles the molecular structure of the area surrounding and including the bite.

Hemotoxic-venoms that acts on the heart and cardiovascular system.

Neurotoxic-venom that acts on the nervous system and brain.

Cytotoxic-The venom has a localized action at the site of the bite.

The purpose of venom is to help the snake defend its self, help it catch prey , and to help with digestion

Black Mamba Black Mamba (Dendroaspis

polylepis) The most deadly of the mamba

family Native to Africa Nick named by locals as black death Reaches up to length of 14 ft Fastest snake in the world moving

up to speeds of 10-12 miles per hour

Is capable of lifting more then a half its body off the ground

Has an inky black mouth thus giving it the name black mamba
