World Reality

There are 783 million people in the world who don’t have access to clean water.

2.5 billion people are without adequate sanitation

Page 8: Clean Water and Sanitation

Around 700,000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation – that’s almost 2000 children a day.

4 out of 10 don’t have access to a basic toilet

Page 9: Clean Water and Sanitation

Only 15% of the worlds population have the luxury of water on tap

Half the hospital beds in developing countries are filled with people suffering from diseases caused by poor water, sanitation and hygiene.

Page 10: Clean Water and Sanitation

The average person in Australia uses 385L of water every day

For every $1 invested in sanitation, at least $8 is returned in increased productivity and a reduced burden of healthcare.
