Information Services 28 February 2017 - 1 - CRICOS No. 00233E

Clearing Browser Cache Before you begin Cache - How it can help Entire websites or elements of webpages such as images (buttons or icons) and photos are stored locally on your computer hard drive in area called browser cache or temporary internet files. When accessing websites the local cache is checked for copies and if found loads the site from hard disk rather than over the internet for faster website browsing and less data transfer.

Occasionally the cache can cause page load issues, for a number of reasons, or become corrupt. Clearing your cache is one of the first troubleshooting steps necessary to resolve page load issues.

Forcing Refresh You can use browser shortcut keys to reload pages from the web server rather than local cache if you’re experiencing page issues. This is dependent upon your operating system, simply press the relevant key combination below to reload page content from the server.

Windows: Ctrl+F5

Mac/Apple: Apple+R or Command+R
