The ROSARY…and an idea for a mini-pilgrimage…

The celebration of Easter comes with a feeling of great peace. Here is a suggestion of something you might do in the coming weeks to enhance that feeling of closeness to Our Lord. Make a mini-pilgrimage to the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. Carey is barely 100 miles and two hours North of Newark. The beauty in the upper level main church including the Altar, the soaring ceiling, the paintings and stained glass windows is breathtaking. You can sit quietly in your pew and

allow the shear history of the miracles and life-changing events that have taken place there to envelope you. The atmosphere will give you a feeling of God’s presence. There is an elevator for those in need of easy access. In the lower level church, you find Altars, shrines and statues. There are testimonial letters of healing including a large array of braces, crutches, photos, Rosaries and personal momentos. There are dozens of beautiful handmade gowns for the Statue of Our Lady of Consolation…made in thanksgiving for miracles granted over the last 140 years. The immense collection of First Class Relics of the Saints of God will leave you in awe. Consider a mini-pilgrimage to Carey…you will feel blessed. NOTE: Father Sullivan is planning a parish trip to Carey on May 24th. You will find literature about Carey in the bulletin in the next few weeks.Remember, you and your family are always invited to take part in our weekly Rosary for Peace, every Saturday at 4:35 p.m., just before Mass.
