Description of location:

This is our first project in Nigeria for our client Warri Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC) in Warri (Quarter 1/2018), together with our partner KTV Group Nigeria. The city of Warri is an oil hub in South-South Nigeria and served as the colonial capi-tal of the then Warri Province, now called Delta State. The city has a modern seaport which serves as the cargo transit point between the Niger River and the Atlantic Ocean for import and export. The city’s his-tory dates back to the 15th century, when it was visited by Portuguese missionaries and is nowadays one of the cosmopolitan cities in southern Nigeria. Warri is located approximately 300km (air distance) in the East-South of Lagos with a population of more than 500,000.

Description of operation:

First the layer of oil from the sumps and basins will be transferred to the tanks. This mixture will then run through VAOS owned BLABO® unit, a closed loop Automated Hydrocarbon Recovery and Tank Cleaning (AHRTC) system. Finally the recovered product will be transferred back to client facility for their further usage. As per client Scope of Work (SoW), a minimum hydrocarbon (HC) recovery rate of 95% shall be achieved. The water will be transferred to client waste water treatment plant and the non-recoverable sludge will be treated in a nearby incineration plant.
