Born in 1930 in San Francisco, Clint Jr.,

moved around the Pacific coast a lot during

his childhood. He did a lot of odd jobs before

joining the acting school at Universal.

FilmographyHis filmography is marked by many films that were loved by the public. he

won the largest,number of award such as the Oscars, the Golden Globe.

The critics gave him a very positive review on his talent as an actor and

this was very imporant :

- In the western « For a handful of dollars » (1964), where he played the main

role ,made him a star in Europe.

-Unforgiven in 1992 was at the hight of his career & the movie won four

Academy awards.

-Eastwood then won many awards for Million Dollar Baby in 2004.

ActorIt was the TV that offered Eastwood his first notoriety with Rawhide. His first film

contract was signed on May 1, 1954. He met Arthur Lubin who used him as his

agent and who offered him his first role in " Francis join the Wacs ". He enrolled

in The Universal Talent School where he learned to speak to play, and to act.

He began his career as a physical or vocal extra in 1954.

We always associate Clint with Westerns. He refused many scripts. After he

starred in the "Dollars Trilogy", he became a star in the USA. For movies like "

Hang Them high and short " ( T.Post), " A sheriff in New York " ( D.Siegel), "

When eagles attack " (B.G. Hutton), and " The western carnival " ( J.Logan).

Clint Eastwood is loved by the critics who recognizes his great talent.

Director

It was in 1971 when Clint Eastwood directed his first movie, with "Play Misty for

Mrs". Throughout his director's career, he made poetic, nostalgic & sad movies.

So, thanks to the often dark graphics he succeeds creating a style associating

light, music and direction.

His movies which get mass appeal are all his personal work over 35 years of

relentless working rhythm, at the rate of approximately a movie a year.

Producer

He started his own production company, Malpaso,. The name of a small ravine

which runs through his property of Mount Carmel. The first major movie

produced by his company was “Hang ‘em High“. He created later a music

department, Malpaso Records which produced the soundtracks of his

movies, or some other records as the tribute which was returned to him to

Carnégie Hall of New York in 1996. Malpaso is one of most important and

most renowned independent companies of the American movie industry

today.

MusicianAs you have probably noticed, Clint is fascinated by music, in particular by Jazz

and Country. Two of his movies contain strong references to music:"Bird" and

" Honky Tonk man ". He practised at first the Fluegelhorn, or Bugle, cousin of

the trumpet, then he started on the cornet, the small copper trunk drilled

before discovering the piano towards the age of 16 years. He even played it

for a living at one time, by playing in bars. Clint also tried singing, without

much success but with a rather beautiful voice. A complete artist, he

composes, sings, and plays along. If he had not been in the cinema, he would

have been a composer and recognized musician. More film-maker passionate

about music, Eastwood is a musician & movie artist.
