AGENDA

7:30am – 8:00am Registration

8:00am – 8:45am Scene Setting and Orientation – Michael O’Neil

Major Cloud Computing elements that impact your business choices.

Where are we on the path to hybrid cloud?

What does cloud mean to your IT acquisition and IT management strategies?

How does cloud affect business management options and requirements – today and in the future?

8:45am – 10:00am Business Planning for the Cloud – HP Cloud Business, Dell

Although the first steps to cloud often take the form of ad hoc pilot projects, migration to an effective hybrid IT/business environment

requires a plan considering both technology and integration options. In this session, we’ll hear from two leading firms (and their

customers) as we discuss key issues in the cloud planning process.

10:00 am – 10:15am BREAK

10:15am – 11:30pm Capitalizing on Cloud Infrastructure – CenturyLink Technology Solutions, Microsoft

At the core of the cloud is the infrastructure – the virtual equivalent of servers, storage, memory and networking – that is taking the

place of physical on-premise products. What are the key considerations in sourcing and deploying hybrid infrastructure? What have we

learned from early adopters, and how can we apply these lessons moving forward.

11:30pm – 12:30pm LUNCH

12:30pm – 1:45pm SaaS and Your Business – Igloo, gShift, FutureStateIT, DMTI Spatial

SaaS is expected to supplant traditional software and become the most common way to acquire and deploy software before the end of

the decade. Why is SaaS so hot? In this session, four Canadian leaders will talk about how SaaS solutions provide cost-effective

methods of improving business performance.

1:45pm – 3:00pm Integrating a Hybrid Environment – SoftChoice, Ideaca, Supra ITS

Effective integration is the key to both building hybrid infrastructure and to basing new business process automation options on these

hybrid offerings. What’s involved in pulling the pieces together? Leading Canadian integrators discuss keys to implementing and

benefitting from hybrid environments.

3:00pm – 3:15pm BREAK

3:15pm – 4:30pm Driving the Business Utility of the Cloud – Hitachi Data Systems, Cisco

In many ways, the most important advantages of cloud are found not in what it is, but in what it enables. Organizations can use cloud

resources to power applications that are unlocking new competitive advantage. In this session, we look at two of the hottest cloud-

enabled technologies – Big Data analytics and mobility – and at how organizations are reaching new markets by combining cloud with

data access and new business practices.

4:30pm – 5:30pm Cocktail Reception

Network with colleagues, participate in an end-of-event prize draw.

#TCNXcloud will help your business navigate the cloud computing opportunities today.

We start with business planning; progress through infrastructure; (SaaS) applications; hybrid infrastructure

integration; and conclude with a discussion on driving business utility through the cloud.

We will help you connect with the realities through the unique TechConnex workshop approach. Attendees

will be assigned a team addressing a specific business context. We will then walk through a series of five

linked sessions that begin with an interactive Q&A with experts in the areas being covering. We'll then

present a list of best practices, and ask each team to discuss the ways in which these can be applied to their

team's business requirements. At the end of each session, we will have 2-4 audience members present on

their team's recommendations, and then ask the panel experts to add their perspectives on building success

in the cloud.

With this session, you’ll get a roadmap to why, where and when this migration will be most beneficial. The

free evening social provides a welcoming community setting to further explore how the learnings of the day

might be applied directly to your business.
