Save the Date! Liturgical Minister training will take place on Thursday, May 3 at 6:30 pm and Saturday, May 10 at 10 am, in the Church. Please attend one of the trainings if you are interested in volunteering

as a Greeter, Lector, MC, Altar Server, or Eucharistic Minister. We would love to have you join us!

What is next for those who have entered the Catholic Church this Easter? Our 28 newly baptized and confirmed Catholics have reached their final period of RCIA, which is called the neophyte year. All who were baptized and received into full communion are now called neophytes (meaning "new plants," like a newly-emerged seed) until the anniversary of their initiation next Easter. This final period of regular formation extends through the Easter season - the seven weeks from Easter to Pentecost. We will meet for Mystagogy on April 22, May 6 and May 20 immediately after the 11:00 a.m. Mass in Rooms 9 & 10 of the Faith & Family Center.   All are welcome! For our new Catholics, this post-baptismal experience is called mystagogy. It is an explanation and "unpacking" of the mysteries of the Easter Vigil.  It is a time for deepening the Christian experience, especially in appreciation for the sacramental life, spiritual growth, and entering more fully into the life and unity of our Catholic community. The neophytes now share with Christ, and the parish community, the intimate communion of the Eucharist. Now they have access to all the means of sanctification. We as a community pledge to help them grow and mature in the Christian life and to develop a genuine Catholic worldview. Please pray for all those whom God has called us to join us as we continue on our pilgrimage to our Father in Heaven, including those among us who will come into the Church during this Easter Season.  If you know of someone who'd like to get started, the time is now.  RCIA runs through the entire year, so there's no need to wait!

Change of Address is the next topic in our series “Good News We’re All Going to Die”

It is difficult to predict what living arrangement we, or our loved ones, will need as we, or they, age. Fortunately, today’s available options can meet immediate needs and transition to other options

as necessary. The options generally include in-home care, independent living, assisted living, memory care, residential care home, skilled nursing, or long-term care.

Our challenge is to make an informed decision that best fits the situation and is affordable. Parishioner Rob Koch is an expert in helping individuals and families identify the option that makes the most sense for a person and balances value and cost. On May 7th, from 7-8:30 pm in the FFC –room C, Rob will present how to recognize when assistance in-home or elsewhere should be considered as well as options that ensure quality care and quality of life.

Future Baptism Dates: May13th, June 17th and July 8. Baptisms immediately follow the 11:00 am Mass in the Church. Your family must be registered members of St. John Neumann Parish to schedule a Baptism. Also, if this is your first child, you should attend a Baptism Preparation Class. The next Baptism prep class will be held

on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:00 am in Room 8 of the FFC.To be fair to every family, we regret that Father Noble and Deacon Carl Calcara are unable to schedule private Baptisms.

All are welcome to join us on Wednesdays at 11:30 am in the lower level of the Parish Office, Rooms 4 & 5, for our weekly community lunch. We

meet every Wednesday! Stop in for some great food and conversation.

Women’s Club Wine & Canvas NightMark your calendars! Women’s club will be having a wine and canvas night with our very own Jacque Kuhn on Monday May 7 beginning at 6:30 pm in the FFC. Materials will be supplied. Bring wine to share if you like. A picture of the 8x8 project, flower wreath surrounding a silhouette of Mary holding Jesus, will b on the bulletin board just off the church gathering space along with a sign up sheet. We will need a count for material purchase, so RSVP by APRIL 30. Call, text or email Marge to reserve your spot. 740 817 1599 or [email protected]

SPIRITUALITY AND PRAYERFrom Everyday Stewardship by Tracy Earl WelliverAPRIL 22 RESEMBLING JESUSBeloved:See what love the Father has bestowed on usthat we may be called the children of God.Yet so we are.The reason the world does not know usis that it did not know him.Beloved, we are God's children now;what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him,for we shall see him as he is. 1JOHN 3:1-2

The First Letter of John tells us that the world does not yet see us for who we are because it does not recognize Jesus. When the world finally recognizes Jesus, all will see us for who we are because we will look like Him. For now, do not assume people will look at you and say, “What a great steward and disciple! You are just like Jesus!” Some will see your way of life and understand. They will be inspired to be more like Jesus as well. But many will look at you and listen to what you have to say and actually wonder why you don’t wake up and conform to the world. It is not easy when you find yourself in the situation that you are the only intentional disciple in your neighborhood, at work, or even in your family. This is especially difficult when you are young and in school environments when God is a subject and not a reality. But fear not! You are not alone! And when the time comes to pass when all creation sees Him for whom He really is, they will find it hard to tell Him and his children apart. In fact, I wouldn’t want to resemble anybody else.IDEA FOR RESPONSEAsk someone close to you if he or she has ever seen Christ through you and have the person elaborate.TAKE TIME TO REFLECTWhen was the last time I saw the face of Christ in someone else?

Do you know someone who has left the Church?  Most of us know at least one loved one who decided to leave the Church for

one reason or another.  We will be offering a five-week video based discussion series at St. John Neumann that will give you a game plan for attracting your loved ones back to the Church, while answering questions and concerns along the way.  The program is based on the book, Return:  How to Draw Your Child Back to Church by Brandon Vogt.  We hope to see you on Wednesdays in May (2, 9, 16, 23, 30), from 6:30 - 8 pm in the lower level of the Faith & Family Center.

Down in Adoration falling:This great sacrament we hail;Over ancient forms of worshipNewer rites of grace prevail;Faith will tell us Christ is present,When our human senses fail.

Many graces flow from His Eucharistic Presence. Come and adore and seek His guidance and graces for the many challenges you have to meet this week.

Pray for Those in the ServicePlease continue to remember our military and their families in your prayers.

Lord Jesus, Savior of the World and King of Peace, watch over our sons and daughters in the service of their country.

Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life. Keep them close to You and help them live the

commandments.Lord Jesus, give them the courage to serve their country with

honor and dignity. Be with them when they are in danger; strengthen them when they face hardships. Above all, Lord,

grant that when their service is finished, they may return to us sound in body and soul. Amen.
