As a retail chain serving national community’s in-store and online, the client experienced an incredible amount of payment transactions 24/7/365. Aware of the overwhelming financial effects of credit card theft, the retail client was anxious to protect themselves against an almost certain data breach. 1 in 6 businesses suffer a credit card breach within 24 months, and each breach will cost a business about $80,000; 70% of those businesses will be out of business within one year. Understanding the responsibility placed on their shoulders, the retail merchant needed to become PCI – DSS compliant before they could have peace of mind about the security of their customer’s valuable payment information.
