CLP Activity Report KG I – Grade II 15.05.2016 – 26.05.2016 KG I Activities 15.05.2016- 16.05.16 – Story Sack: Story sack activity based on the story ‘Brown Bear’ was conducted in KG I to promote a love for reading and make reading a memorable experience for the little ones.Teachers read the story using puppets, soft toys and flash cards which helped the story to come alive. Children enjoyed performing the activities related to the story. 16.05.2016 –Assembly:As the theme of this month is Family, KGIH children presented a skit on the topic – ‘Together we make a family’. Two different families were shown, one set of parents were busy with their own business, completely ignoring their child while the other set of parents were totally involved in the development and upbringing of the child, demonstrating a happy family. 18.05.2016– Landmarks of Dubai: An educational trip to Landmarks of Dubai was organized for KG I children. Children got an opportunity to see the Mall of the Emirates, Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach, Dubai Zoo, Dubai Museum, Emirates towers and Burj Khalifa. Children waited anxiously to view the tallest building and Dubai Zoo. They had a wonderful trip enjoying with their friends and teachers.

KG I Activities
15.05.2016- 16.05.16 – Story Sack: Story sack activity

19.05.2016 – Show and Tell: The Show and Tell
activity on ‘Meet my Family’ took place this week.
Children were excited to talk about their family. They
spoke confidently about their grandparents, mummy
and daddy, brothers and sisters and pets also being a
part of their family.
KG II Activities:
15.05.16:Story Sack: Story Sacks enhance the teaching of
literacy in any setting and contribute to the child's life-long
love of books and reading. Children were completely
engrossed in the world of Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs, while the teachers read out the story and pulled out
beautiful props from the sack.
17.05.16: Birds Family: Hands on activities facilitate deep
learning which leads to better results. Children made a family
of birds using origami paper during the Art period.
18.05.16: Family Photo Frames: Children made beautiful
photo frames for their family photographs. They talked about
the individual members of their family. They were very
excited while placing their family photo frame on the wall.
19.05.16: A trip to Dubai landmark: A trip was conducted for
KG II children wherein they viewed different famous land
marks of Dubai like Burj Khalifa, Burj al Arab, Dubai museum,
meena bazar, Jumeirah Beach etc. Children were asked to recall
and draw their favorite place after the trip in their respective
class rooms.

KG I Activities
26.05.16 Mother’s Day Celebrations: The day that
celebrates the essence of a mother is Mother’s Day. One
of those occasions that none of us can afford to miss. To
keep this bond alive a special activity called “Read O
Fun” was organized for the mothers of KG I on 23rd
May.
22.05.16 – 26.05.16 Colourful Week: It was a colourful
week for the little ones. They dressed up in different
colours every day to reinforce learning. They carried a
picture or an object of the given color and spoke a few
lines. Red, green, blue and yellow were the days
celebrated.
22.05.16 – 26.05.16 Word formation with letters:
Children have learned the letter sounds of Jolly phonics
and now they have started blending the sounds together to
create two letter words. They start by saying the individual
sounds in a word and join them together to make a word.
Children have started building words from Group 1, 2 and
3 of Jolly Phonics.
KG II Activities
22.05.16: Drawing Competition: Children were
participated at the drawing competition to demonstrate their
best drawing skill. Children showed great enthusiasm and
took part actively.
23.05.16: Kitchen garden: To develop care and love for
nature, children visited our kitchen garden wherein they
were informed about different plants. They were taught how
to sow seeds to get new plants.
24.05.16: Show and tell on School as a family:
Children were given platform to speak about school as a
family by the means of show and tell. They come prepared
with different colorful props to share their views and
experiences with their peers.
25.05.16: Mother’s day: To strengthen relations and
encourage mothers to spend quality time with their children,
Mother’s day was celebrated wherein mothers shared their
presence in their respective children’s classes and actively
took part in all the activities.

Assembly I A-Grade I-II
Assembly was conducted for Grade I-II children in the Sundeep Hall. The children performed
with great enthusiasm and confidence on the Topic-‘Together We Make a Family’. Children
presented a skit, amazing facts and news and displayed their amazing talent.
Grade I
Role Play- ‘Things I should do in the classroom’.
Children performed a role play activity on the topic ‘Things I should do in the classroom’ for
this children were given various classroom situations to perform. They did collaborative work
by discussing and performing a role play on given situations.

Field Trip-Dolphinarium
The Grade I students went on an educational trip to Dubai Dolphinarium.
The students got up close and personal, with the graceful dolphins and playful seals.
Grade II
Field trip-Movie “Jungle Book”
Students of Grade II enjoyed watching the movie Jungle Book at Ibn Batuta Mall. The children
had an enthralling experience at the movie. After a funfilled trip, the children returned to school
with great enthusiasm. Thereafter they did a DPS live sheet related to the movie. Overall it was
an enriching experience for the children.

Playstation Activity
Grade I -B,C,D,E,F Hindi interactive activities at the playstations on vocabulary enhancement.
At the various playstations, they observed and discussed the objects and identified and wrote
the names of the objects in Hindi as a plenary activity. The other sections of grade I G,I,J had a
Character Portrayal activity in the respective classrooms during the CT Period’s.

School Tour
Children were taken on a tour of the school. They were made familiar with the school premises.
Children were taken to the administration block, senior library, clinic and Multi -Purpose Hall.
The teacher highlighted the importance of these rooms in the school building.
Grade II
English – LIVE!
The students expressed their experience of watching the movie by attempting an English DPS
LIVE! sheet based on the comprehension of the story ‘The Jungle Book’. All were able to
creatively express their experience.

Grade II A conducted this assembly on the theme -‘‘We do not Bully!’. Children presented a
skit, amazing facts and news and displayed their skills. They performed with a lot of enthusiasm
and confidence.

Role Play- ‘Things I should do in the classroom’.
Children performed a role play activity on the topic ‘Things I should do in the classroom’.
During this activity the classroom rules were reinforced. They brainstormed and formed their
class rules.
24.5.16 Grade- II
Life Skills
Grade II students had a truly educative interactive session on ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’
with Ms.Prithivi. This session was a great learning experience for our little learners. Few
students shared some noticeable incidents on bad touch and they learnt about the necessary
steps to be taken when something like this happens.

Playstations Activity
Children participated in playstation activities related to the EVS topic: Professions. They did
hands on activities and were able to make real life connections. They learned about different
kinds of professions like doctor, engineer, chef, music teacher etc and their role in society.

Stop Bullying (Discussion and free expression) children were shown an interactive video.
They discussed about the ill effects of bullying. Children expressed their thoughts in the form of
drawings. They were encouraged to write a few lines on this topic.
26.5.16-Grade II
Activity- Early man
Children compared and discussed the differences between the early and modern man. They
understood the tools and techniques used by the early man for survival.

Kitchen Garden
Children from both the grades were taken to the kitchen garden. There they observed that
Kitchen Garden had been spruced up. More plants, butterflies, lollies, scarecrow, nests had been
added. They explained the important things required for plant growth. Children discussed the
uses of the plants which are grown in the school kitchen garden.
