WWP Project Updates By Gil Ninonuevo Our work with the poor project in Alibang Annex School, in Zambales Philippines, for the education of Aeta kids has achieved a milestone event, completing the Phase 1 project.

Last December 2017 CFCA Adelaide donated the sum of Php 456,984.00 to Saint Francis Learning Center Foundation, Inc. (For Indigenous People Of Zambales, Philippines) in Nibangon, Mangan-Vaca, Subic, Zambales. This is the foundation operating the schools for indigenous kids in Zambales, headed by Sr Mary Francis Borje.

This was to replace the timber trusses, purlins and other framed structures, which were destroyed by white ants. New roofing, steel trusses and purlins were installed, complete with ceiling and metal furring, to avoid future white ant incidents. The façade of the school was also provided with roof extension, to accommodate kids’ outdoor activities, to protect them from rain or scorching heat from sun. Below are photos taken during construction.

Now the three classrooms look pristine, bright and spacious with its new ceiling and white paint. Another reason for kids to be happy and proud of their school.

The other projects are the Medical Missions for our work with the poor, sponsored by the WWP National Council. All volunteers, in medical professional or not, are enjoined to come to either or both medical missions:

    • 11-12 July - Sarangani, province of Cotabato,

    • 18-19 July 2019 - Sorsogon province, Bicol region.

    KIDS CORNER

What does Lent mean to your child? Surely it’s more than just giving up candy for 40 days.

That’s why KFCA would like to invite your children to a Lenten teaching on Saturday, April 6 from 3-5 pm at Richmond Primary School. 8 Surrey Road, Keswik.Together, we will learn about Jesus as we prepare our hearts to accept his gift of love in Easter.

Easter Sunday is just around the corner and our much-awaited annual Easter egg hunt is almost here.

So please save the date - April 21 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. We’re doing it in Carrick Hill this year. How egg-citing!

    See you in Adelaide!!!

HOLD MOVIE FUNDRAISING NIGHT (from page 1)

We didn’t raise much ($250) but those who watched were blessed and as a result we were able to inspire parishioners at St Luke’s to attend our CLP. Once again, we praise God for His inspiration! Margarita McMahon

    MORNING PRAYERS

"Lord Jesus, you are the Resurrection and the Life. Increase my faith in the power of your resurrection and in the truth that you are truly alive! May I never doubt your life-giving word nor

stray from your presence. Amen!” Mylene Loreto

    ANSWERED PRAYERS

    Testimony 1:

We had to place for sale our holiday home in Goolwa due to financial reasons; our beautiful waterfront home in the marina has been a place of enjoyment and rest over the years for our family and friends. We had called the house Galilee with a reading from the bible of Jesus walking on water and saying, ‘do not be afraid’.

The house was initially a holiday home for us and later years we rented the house to a Pastor holding youth groups, and up to last October to another family. With great sadness we have prepared the house for sale after the last tenancy, the bank had changed the loan to a higher interest rate, and we were losing money every day.

We prayed to the Lord to send us a Christian couple to care for the house and make it a place of worship as it had been. A few months passed with the mortgage increasing by day, we started to worry. We called on the lord one day and we prayed for an immediate sale. Hours later that day the phone rang, the agent had a contract ready for us to sign on the house; a good price and a lovely Christian couple strong for the Lord will live in the house and use the house for retirement, rest and prayer. We have become good friends with an invitation to visit anytime.

All praise to our Lord - for He is good and cares for our needs.

    Domenic and Annamaria

    Testimony 2:

We thank God for an answered prayer. God worked his miracle when he healed our 2-year old daughter who was recently hospitalised due to pneumonia. Kiara was sick for 3 weeks and lost a lot of weight due to her

illness. We are thankful for the whole CFCA community who never grew tired from praying for Kiara’s recuperation. Praise God for his love, compassion and healing hands. Our baby is healed. Thanks be to God (Jeremy Sia)

    Testimony 3:

December of last year, I had a shoulder injury while working at Santos Oil Plant in Moomba. Since then, I worked in light duty. However, mid of February, after I underwent MRI, the surgeon recommended a surgery to fix the extent of my injury and I was scheduled for a procedure on April 1.

As the day of my operation drew nearer, a praise song (Hosanna) touched and opened the eyes my heart. I had been hearing this song for two consecutive Sundays as recessional hymn and filled my heart with emotions and even brought me to tears. I decided to include “Hosanna” to our household prayer meeting and also to our unit prayer meeting because I really felt his holy presence and even heard his messages through this song. And later found out that the word Hosanna is from Hebrew meaning "save" as used in the bible verse (Psalm 118:25). Also, a scripture struck me on those moments from Jeremiah 29:11 (I was born on 29/11/1974) saying “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. I asked the Lord for his guidance and for his healing power to work throughout the procedure. For His love never fails, the surgery was successful, and I thanked Him.

Two hours after the procedure, I asked my wife, Chona, to hand me my mobile phone so I could send a message thanking the West Unit for their prayers, Then, I read the Gospel reading on that day (April 1) “Jesus – the divine physician” (John 4:43-54). This gospel is about a Father (high court official) who travelled 20 miles in search for Jesus, to ask him to heal his dying son. Jesus sent the Father home with the assurance that his son will live. Jesus not only healed his son but also renewed his faith.

As I read the gospel, I felt that I am blessed and was reminded that I have a loving, compassionate and faithful GOD. He answered my prayer not just by healing me physically but also spiritually. Brothers and Sisters, we should continue to search for Jesus and humble ourselves before Him, ask with expectant faith and glorify His name for everything He has done for us. May God be praised.
