MARK 1: 14-15

AFTER JOHN HAD BEEN PUT IN PRISON, JESUS WENT TO GALILEE AND PREACHED THE GOOD NEWS FROM GOD. “THE RIGHT TIME HAS COME,” HE SAID, AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR! TURN AWAY FROM YOUR SINS AND BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS!”

REPENT !! BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL!!

Repentance & Faith must go together…

IT IS A DOUBLE-ACTION RESPONSE!WE CANNOT JUST HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER.

What is REPENTANCE?

“METANOIA” which literally means a change of mind.

a. Change in direction.

b. Turning away from sin, evil, wrongdoing and running your own life

• Turning to a life of obedience to God

• Turning away from doublemindedness, lukewarmness

HOT OR COLD ?

REVELATION 3:15-16

I KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, I KNOW THAT YOU ARE NEITHER COLD OR HOT. HOW I WISH YOU WERE EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER! BUT BECAUSE YOU ARE LUKEWARM, NEITHER HOT OR COLD, I AM GOING TO SPIT YOU OUT OF MY MOUTH

a. It is not dependent on feelings.

b. It is not being sorry for sin because we are afraid of the consequences.

WHAT MUST WE DO TO REPENT?

a. Be honest. Admit that we have sin

b. Exercise humility.

c. Renounce sin

d. Ask God’s forgiveness (1John 1:9)

But if we confess our sins to God, He will keep his promise and do what is right; He will forgive us our sins and purify us all our wrongdoing.

Repentance only becomes complete after totally turning away from evil and accepting Jesus as Lord…

Accepting Jesus and letting him be LORD of our lives require FAITH

Faith is belief in the Gospel, which is the good news of Salvation in Jesus Christ.

Faith is a personal act and decision

Rev. 3:20 Listen! I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into his house and eat with him, and he will eat with me.

GOD HAS PROMISED US NEW LIFE.FAITH is accepting that life and letting God

show us how to live it.

ACTS 16:31“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”

a. A promise of salvation from sin, satan, death.

b. A promise of forgiveness and eternal life with God.

Or would you give him a scorpion when he ask for an egg? Bad you are, you know how to give good things to your children, how much more, then will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
