CMA Chamber Music America was established to raise the profile of small-ensemble music by supporting the activities of artists and presenters devoted to this uniquely collaborative art form. Through CMA’s many grant programs, the membership has since introduced chamber music to new audiences in hundreds of community venues nationwide; expanded the reper- toire in classical, jazz, world, and crossover genres; ventured into international collaborations with other artists; and presented innovative programming that has attracted new audiences. In 2009-2010, CMA continued to support our rapidly evolving and expanding field. This year, $698,915 in grants was awarded to 45 ensembles and presenters for community residencies, concert presentations, international collaborations, commissions, and professional development. Outstanding service and contributions to the field were recognized through the CMA/ASCAP, CMAcclaim, and Richard J. Bogomolny National Service awards. We congratulate our grant and award recipients on their inspiring achievements! 09-10 Grantees + Honorees 28 september/october 2010
