  • History In 1931 some credit men met and discussed the Credit problem of their companies. They envisioned a need to form an organization. April 19, 1932 they formally formed the association as a non-stock non-profit institution under the name of Association of Credit Men, Inc.

    In 1967 the Association formally changed its name to Credit Management Association of the Philippines (CMAP) Inc.

    At present CMAP has over 350 member companies from the banking, financing, services, trading, manufacturing, and insurance sectors of the Philippine business.

    Also, affiliated with CMAP are regional credit associations from Visayas and Mindanao.

  • Membership Regular members are members who may be business organizations or individuals. Currently, membership is organized on a per industry group such as: 1. Banking - 23%2. Trading - 20%3. Financing/Lending Investors - 19%4. Manufacturing - 17% 5. Services - 10%6. Real Estate - 5% 7. Insurance - 4%8. Telecommunications - 2%

  • Credit Education and Research Committeeis responsible for providing continuing education and training to members and other credit and collection practitioners through seminars and workshops on various aspects of credit and collection management and other related fields. Credit Information Services Committee is responsible for providing members with credit information services necessary to facilitate credit evaluation and decision making.

    Industry Group Committeeis responsible for fostering closer cooperation among members by grouping them according to industry or line of business through industry group meeting where members exchange credit and collection experiences and ideas, discuss and resolve problems peculiar to their respective industry and facilitate exchange of credit and collection information on common customers or accounts.

    Membership Committeeis responsible for recruiting and sustaining membership, processing and evaluating membership applications and establishing and maintaining linkages with other credit associations.

    CMAP STANDING COMMITTEES

  • Credit Congress Committee is responsible for the holding of the Credit Congress which is the culminating activity of the Association for fiscal year and its participation in the yearly celebration of the "National Credit Consciousness Week". Programs and Sports & Fellowship Committeeis responsible for the holding of regular memberschip meetings of the Association and promoting physical fitness, fostering camaraderie and fellowship among members through sports activities.

    Legal and Ethics Committee is responsible for handling all legal matters and issues involving CMAP.

    Social Involvement Committee responsible for the outreach Program of the Association.

    Finance Committee is responsible in the preparation of Annual Budget and overseeing the financial condition of CMAP.

Listing of Court Cases is a compilation of court cases filed in the different courts of Metro Manila, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Cebu, Davao and almost all key cities in the Philippines on the following categories:a.   • 2. Listing of Returned Checks is a compilation of clients who issued check(s) which was/we dishonored by the drawee bank submitted by CMAP's members.

    3. Listing of Accounts Endorsed to Lawyers is a compilation of accounts endorsed to legal submitted by the members of CMAP. 4. Listing of Past Due Accounts from telecommunication companies. 5. Listing of Past Due Accounts from manufacturing companies.

  • GUIDELINES ON THE TREATMENT OF CMAP NEGATIVE DATA

    The Court Case, Returned Checks, Account a Referred to Lawyers and the Negative Data from the Telecom Companies merely provide lead information; they are not to be interpreted as a BLACK LISTING of accounts.The information is given with STRICT CONFIDENCE and without any responsibility on the part of CMAP. The extension of credit or any decision is determined in accordance with your own evaluation and judgment.The Court Case Data Files is a SERVICE provided by the Association to the members and gathered with good faith without liability for possible errors with procuring, collecting and communicating the information gathered.The law prohibits DISCLOSURE of any information related to loan application.Correction, amendments and updates of the files are disseminated to you. Please give them appropriate attention and update accordingly.

  • GUIDELINES ON THE DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATIONThe identity of the source of information deserves the same confidence as the information itself and should not be revealed to anyone including the subject inquiry. Violations of the principle of confidentiality will be ground for the following appropriate actions:

    1. Warning Memo first offense2. Monetary Penalty of Php5,000 per disclosure second offense3. Revocation of right to inquire from the data base third offense4. Disaffiliation from the Association fourth offense

  • GUIDELINES ON UPDATING AND DELETION OF DATAShould the complainant be able to present verifiable evidence that his/her court case has been dismissed/settled/withdrawn and the CMAP Secretariat has verified it with the court, the following guidelines must be observed:

    De-list name from central database.Route via email or hand carried the list of the deleted name and members must do the same accordingly, andCMAP has no responsibility if member fails to update their own data base.

  • REMINDERSCMAP Negative Data Files merely provide lead information and not a blacklisting of accounts.

    It is gathered in good faith and provided by the Association as a service to its members. Accuracy of this listing is not guaranteed so members are requested to conduct actual verification on the status, history nature of the case and the identity of the applicants especially if it is a common name.

    It does not constitute a recommendation or opinion in any manner by the association. The extension of credit or any decision is determined by the individual member in accordance with their own evaluation and judgment.

    The information is given in strict confidence. The law prohibit disclosure of any information relative to loan application. The identity of the source of information deserves the same confidence as the information itself.
